Take a PDF screenshot in Microsoft Edge
Edge’s built-in Screenshot command works when the PDF is displayed in an Edge tab. Microsoft describes it as capturing either a full page or a selected area; the exact command and shortcut can vary by device, market and browser version.

Capture a selected chart, paragraph, or image
- Open the PDF’s web address in Microsoft Edge. Wait until the page you need is rendered.
- Open the page context menu and choose Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows.
- Choose the option for a selected area if Edge presents a full-page/selection choice.
- Drag from one corner of the region to the opposite corner. Include the entire chart, paragraph, or image; anything outside the rectangle is excluded.
- Use the overlay’s markup tools if you need to draw or highlight. Select Copy to place the image on the clipboard, or Save to write an image file.
Capture an entire rendered PDF page
- Open Screenshot with Ctrl+Shift+S or the context menu.
- Select the full-page capture option.
- Check the preview. The result is a screenshot of what Edge rendered, not a re-created, text-searchable PDF.
- Mark up the image if necessary, then copy or save it.
If the PDF has several pages, repeat the process for each page. A full-page capture refers to the page Edge renders in the viewer; it does not automatically turn an entire multi-page document into one tall image.

Get a sharper result
- Zoom in before opening Screenshot when small type must remain readable. Make sure the complete target region is visible.
- Use a selected rectangle for a figure or paragraph instead of capturing browser controls and empty margins.
- Hide side panels or thumbnails before capturing if they reduce the page area.
- After saving, open the image and inspect text at 100% size. A screenshot cannot restore detail that was too small on screen.
Use Acrobat or Acrobat Reader’s Snapshot tool
Acrobat’s Snapshot workflow copies PDF content as an image. It is useful when you need a precise selection and already have the desktop application.

- Open the PDF in Acrobat.
- Open Menu, then Undo, Redo and More, and choose Take a snapshot.
- Click once to capture the visible PDF content, or drag a rectangle around the exact area.
- Switch to the destination application and paste with Ctrl+V on Windows or Command+V on macOS.
Acrobat Reader menu path
- Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader.
- Choose Edit, then More, and select Take a snapshot.
- Drag around the content you want. Reader copies the selected area as an image.
- Paste it into an email, document editor, image editor, or other application.
PDF security settings can prevent copying in Acrobat Reader. If Snapshot is unavailable or the selection will not copy, the document owner may have disabled copying. Use Edge’s rendered screenshot only when you are authorized to capture the document and its contents.
Save one PDF page as an image online
If your goal is a page image rather than a clipboard capture, use Edge’s full-page Screenshot and choose Save. Select a lossless format when available for diagrams or small text; use JPEG when a smaller file is more important. Name files with the page number, such as report-page-03.png, so a set of captures stays in order.

Troubleshoot common PDF screenshot problems
The Screenshot command is missing in Edge
Edge’s Screenshot availability can differ by browser version, device, and market. Update Edge, confirm the PDF is open in an ordinary tab rather than a downloaded file, and try the page context menu. If the command still is not present, use Acrobat Reader Snapshot or the operating system’s local screen-capture shortcut.

Wait for the PDF viewer and the page itself to finish rendering. Reload once and check that the URL is reachable without a sign-in prompt. A protected or expired link may show a viewer shell but not the document.
Text is blurry or clipped
Increase the viewer zoom, resize the window, and capture again. Keep the complete target visible before dragging. For a large diagram, capture several logical sections rather than shrinking the entire page until text becomes unreadable.

Acrobat will not copy the selection
Check whether the PDF’s security settings disallow copying. Snapshot copies the rendered area, but Reader may enforce the document’s permissions. Ask the owner for an unrestricted copy or use an authorized rendered screenshot.
Only part of a long page was saved
A selected-area capture saves only the rectangle you draw. Choose Edge’s full-page option for the complete rendered page, or repeat captures page by page for a multi-page document. For automated page ranges, use ScreenshotNeo’s PDF options and specify the pages you need.
An API response is an error or an unexpected image
Verify the access key, URL encoding, and that the target is publicly reachable by the service. Do not treat a failed load as a valid screenshot.

Remove credentials from logs, use short-lived links where possible, and avoid placing confidential content in a public signed image URL.
