VPN Unlimited is a capable general-purpose VPN in 2026, but it is not an obvious privacy leader. It offers WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and proprietary KeepSolid Wise protocols, mainstream streaming servers and strong nearby performance in one independent test. The important trade-offs are a five-device limit, operating-system differences in kill-switch and split-tunneling support, no independent no-logs audit identified by current reviews, weaker long-distance results, and uncertainty over extras attached to some discounted “lifetime” accounts.
What VPN Unlimited is
VPN Unlimited is KeepSolid’s consumer VPN subscription. The app creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and a VPN server, then sends internet traffic through that server. New users create a KeepSolid ID with an email address and password, according to the provider’s official FAQ.
Current reviews report four protocol choices: WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and KeepSolid Wise. Wise is KeepSolid’s proprietary protocol with obfuscation features, which can help disguise VPN traffic on networks that restrict or identify VPN connections. Exact protocol availability can differ by operating system and plan, so check the options shown in your app.
The service permits five devices per subscription. The contractual wording is: “Each Subscription to VPN Unlimited permits the use of VPN Unlimited on up to five (5) devices.” (VPN Unlimited Addendum) A Windows account, browser extension and each separate system user can count as separate devices.

Is VPN Unlimited safe to use in 2026?
For ordinary encrypted browsing, the technical feature set is reasonable, but “safe” depends on how much independently verified privacy evidence you require. KeepSolid’s privacy policy, summarized by VPNOnline, says its VPN products do not log browsing history, connection times, metadata, downloads, server usage, DNS requests or traffic content. The same summary says the company collects account and device information and uses an IP address and geographic location during an active session to choose a server, removing the IP when the session ends (VPNOnline).
Those are provider policy statements, not audit findings. VPNOnline and Security.org both report that they found no independent no-logs audit. KeepSolid is described as a US-based provider headquartered in New York. US jurisdiction does not demonstrate improper logging, but it is relevant if your threat model includes legal-jurisdiction risk.

Use the kill switch where your platform supports it, select WireGuard for a modern default when available, and use KeepSolid Wise only when obfuscation is needed. Do not treat any VPN as anonymous if you sign into identifiable accounts, permit browser tracking or leak identifying information through other apps.
Speed and streaming results
Security.org measured 168.73 Mbps download on a nearby VPN server against 178.01 Mbps without the VPN in its own 2026 test. That is a strong nearby result under that publisher’s test conditions, not a speed promise for every ISP, location or server. The same review characterizes long-distance performance as weaker (Security.org).

Streaming servers can make mainstream services easier to try, but compatibility changes as streaming companies block VPN addresses. A server labeled for a service may work one day and fail the next; maintain a fallback server and check the service’s terms.

Recent KeepSolid replies on Trustpilot say some discounted Legacy Lifetime accounts moved certain extras, including P2P/torrent servers, to an optional Loyalty Plus offering. The company says this does not apply to every lifetime plan. Customer reviews describe frustration, but individual reports do not establish what applies to your account or settle the contract interpretation. Read the exact offer and retain its terms before buying (Trustpilot).
Who should choose VPN Unlimited?
It fits best when
- You need a conventional VPN for browsing, public Wi-Fi and occasional mainstream streaming.
- You can stay within five registered devices.
- Nearby speed matters more than the best possible performance across very distant regions.
- You are comfortable checking platform-specific security features and current plan inclusions.
Consider alternatives when
- An independently audited no-logs record is a purchase requirement.
- Your household needs more than five device slots or frequent device rotation.
- You depend on a Linux kill switch, or require split tunneling on a platform where the current app does not provide it.
- You want a lifetime purchase whose included features are contractually predictable for the long term.
How to evaluate it before committing
- Install the client for every operating system you will use and inspect protocol, kill-switch and split-tunnel menus.
- Register the devices you actually need; count browser extensions and separate system users.
- Test a nearby server and a representative long-distance server at the times you normally work or stream.
- Try your required streaming services, then record which labeled servers work.
- Compare the checkout page’s renewal, refund and bundle language with the features you need.
- For a lifetime offer, save the exact terms and verify whether P2P, DNS Firewall, SmartDNS and other extras are included in that specific plan.
Bottom line
VPN Unlimited is a reasonable mainstream VPN, especially for a stable setup of five or fewer devices and nearby connections. Its decisive weaknesses are the absence of an identified independent no-logs audit, inconsistent feature availability by platform, less convincing long-distance performance and uncertainty surrounding extras on some legacy lifetime accounts. Choose it when those limitations are acceptable—not because “lifetime” automatically guarantees permanent feature access.
