Install FireShot from the Chrome Web Store, open the page, then choose its full-page or entire-page capture option. That mode captures content below the visible window; the toolbar button, page context menu, and Ctrl+Shift+S are the three ways FireShot’s publisher documents for starting a capture. The Chrome listing reviewed on September 29, 2026, identified version 2.1.4.18, updated May 24, 2026. Menu wording and placement can change between releases.
Install FireShot and open the page
- In Chrome, install the extension from the Chrome Web Store listing titled “Take Webpage Screenshots Entirely – FireShot.”
- Open the webpage you want to save. If FireShot’s icon is not visible on the toolbar, open Chrome’s extensions menu and pin FireShot so you can reach it directly.
The Chrome Web Store listing reviewed September 29, 2026, identified FireShot version 2.1.4.18 and showed an update date of May 24, 2026. Because extension interfaces can change, treat that as a version snapshot rather than a guarantee that every menu on your installation will use the same wording.
Capture the entire page
- Start FireShot using one of its documented launch methods: click its toolbar button, right-click the webpage and choose the FireShot item, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Choose the full-page or entire-page capture command. Do not choose visible-area capture if you need content below the current window, and do not choose selection capture unless you only want a portion of the page.
- Review the resulting capture and save or export it using the available option for your installed version.
FireShot describes full-page capture as including parts of the page that are not visible until you scroll. The Chrome Web Store listing also describes three distinct scopes: an entire page, the visible portion, or a selection. Those modes solve different problems:

Do not assume that every page behaves like a simple, static document. Content that loads only after interaction, unusual embedded scroll areas, or a page that changes while it is being captured may affect what appears in the result. If the capture is incomplete, try again after the page has finished loading, check whether the missing content is in an independently scrolling region, and compare the result with what Chrome displays.

Save as an image or PDF
The Chrome Web Store listing names PDF, PNG, and JPEG as save formats. It also lists clipboard copy, printing, and email as available actions. The exact controls presented can depend on the version and platform, so use the options FireShot actually shows after capture rather than expecting every export route to appear in every setup.
For the free version, FireShot’s setup page says captures save to the Downloads folder. FireShot says Pro supports choosing a custom folder or cloud location. If you cannot find a saved capture, check Downloads first and then check Chrome’s configured download location.
- Choose PNG when you want a lossless image and text or interface details should remain crisp.
- Choose JPEG when a smaller image file is more useful than lossless image quality.
- Choose PDF when the page should be kept or shared as a document. FireShot lists advanced PDF export among Pro features; the basic listing also names PDF saving.
- Use clipboard, print, or email when the immediate task is to paste, print, or send the capture rather than store a file. Availability can differ by version.
When the free version is enough—and when Pro may fit
The Chrome Web Store listing presents entire-page, visible-area, and selection capture, plus PDF, PNG, and JPEG saving. It also lists all-tab capture, batch URL capture, Gmail attachment, clipboard copy, and printing among its features. FireShot’s publisher describes Pro as adding or unlocking advanced workflows, but the availability of some options depends on operating system and browser.

For one-off full-page image captures, start with the free workflow and confirm that its output and save location meet your needs. Pro is more relevant if you regularly need advanced PDFs, batch or all-tab capture, capture history, flexible destinations, or editing. Do not assume an editing or redaction feature is available identically across operating systems: FireShot’s own materials qualify some of those tools by platform.

FireShot’s purchase page listed Pro at $39.95 per year or $99.95 for a one-time lifetime license when accessed September 29, 2026. The page described unlimited captures, advanced PDF export, history, batch and automated captures, and Windows editing and smart annotations. These are the prices and terms shown on that date, not a guarantee of future pricing; check the purchase page before buying.
Privacy and where the capture is processed
The Chrome Web Store listing says the developer disclosed that it will not collect or use user data. Separately, FireShot’s own pages say captures are processed locally, do not leave the device, and that the extension can work offline. Those are platform and vendor statements, not an independent audit or a guarantee for every browser configuration. If the contents of a page are sensitive, review the extension’s current permissions and the privacy information for the version you install before capturing it.

Troubleshoot missing or incomplete captures
FireShot’s icon is missing
Open Chrome’s extensions menu and pin FireShot to the toolbar. The extension can still be launched from the page context menu or with Ctrl+Shift+S, according to FireShot’s documented launch options.
The capture stops at the bottom of the visible window
Reopen FireShot and select its full-page or entire-page command rather than visible-area capture. The visible-area mode is intended for what is currently on screen; the full-page mode is the one FireShot describes for off-screen content.
Part of the page is missing
Wait for the page to finish loading and try the full-page capture again. If the missing section is inside a scrollable panel rather than the main page, FireShot lists scrolling-element capture as a Pro capability. FireShot’s available documentation does not establish that every interactive or dynamically changing page will capture identically, so inspect the output instead of assuming that a successful capture contains every state or element.

The output is not in the folder you expected
Check Chrome’s Downloads location. FireShot’s setup page says the free version saves to Downloads, while Pro supports custom folders or cloud locations. If you chose an export action such as clipboard or print rather than file saving, there may not be a file in Downloads.
A Pro feature is not available on your computer
Check FireShot’s current platform-specific feature information before purchasing or troubleshooting further. The publisher notes that the full editor and certain PDF or tab options vary by platform, and specifically identifies editor and redaction tools on Windows.

What to choose for your task
Use FireShot when you want to capture a page from Chrome through an extension, choose a scope such as full page or visible area, and save or share the result using its available export controls. Consider Pro only if a specific advanced workflow—such as batch capture, advanced PDF export, history, flexible destinations, or supported editing—justifies it on your platform. For programmatic capture or an AI-agent workflow, use a screenshot API or MCP server instead of treating the browser extension as an automation interface.
