This creates one image containing content below the fold without manually scrolling. If you mean the entire monitor—including the browser frame and other visible applications—use Windows Snipping Tool in Full screen mode or press Print Screen instead.
Choose what “full screen” means
People use “full screen” for two different captures. Selecting the wrong method can leave out content or include more than you intended.

Use Edge’s full-page option for documentation, archiving, bug reports and long articles. Use an operating-system capture when the browser interface, a dialog from another application or the whole desktop is part of the evidence.
Capture an entire webpage in Edge
- Open the page. Wait for the content you want to preserve to appear. A page with lazy-loaded images may change as you move through it.
- Open Screenshot. Press Ctrl+Shift+S. You can also right-click the webpage and select Screenshot, or open Edge’s Settings and more menu and choose the feature there.
- Select Capture full page. Edge collects the page beyond the visible viewport in one capture; you do not need to drag a selection or scroll manually.
- Review and mark up the image. Use the available drawing and markup controls if you need to point out an error, redact a detail or add a note.
- Choose Copy or Save. Copy places the capture on the clipboard for another application. Save writes an image file using the destination and format offered by Edge.
Moving content, GIFs and carousels
Edge says Screenshot can leave moving content such as GIFs or web carousels active while the capture is being made. If the animation reaches an unwanted frame, pause it at the frame you need before completing the capture. For reproducible documentation, record the state of rotating banners, clocks and live data in your notes because those elements can change between captures.

A full-page image can be very tall. Before saving, decide whether a single image is appropriate for your reader. A PDF, several section images or the page’s own print view may be easier to read, but those are separate workflows. Edge’s full-page command itself is intended to produce one image containing the off-screen webpage.

Capture the entire Windows display instead
Edge Screenshot captures the document, not the whole monitor. For the display itself, use one of these Windows paths:
Snipping Tool: Full screen
- Press Win+Shift+S to open the Snipping Tool capture overlay.
- Select Full screen.
- Open the resulting snip from the notification or Snipping Tool, then annotate, copy or save it.
Windows also offers Rectangle, Window and Freeform modes in the same tool. A Window snip is useful when you want the Edge window but not unrelated applications.
Print Screen
Press Print Screen for a static image of the entire display. This is appropriate when every visible monitor detail matters and you do not need to select a region first. The exact save or clipboard behavior can depend on your Windows configuration, so verify where the image went before closing the source window.

Using Edge on macOS
Do not confuse browser full-screen mode with a screenshot. Microsoft’s Edge shortcuts list Ctrl+Command+F (also written Command+Ctrl+F) to switch Edge’s browser full-screen mode on or off. That changes how the window is displayed; it does not by itself save a capture.

Microsoft’s Screenshot policy documentation lists macOS support from Edge version 87 or later. When the feature is enabled or not configured, Screenshot can appear in the context menu, the Settings and more menu and through Ctrl+Shift+S. If that command does nothing, check whether the option is present in either menu and whether the browser is managed.
Why Screenshot may be missing on a work computer
On managed devices, administrators can control Edge Screenshot with the WebCaptureEnabled policy. A policy that disables the feature can remove Screenshot from the context menu, the Settings and more menu and the shortcut flow. An enabled or unconfigured policy exposes those entry points.
What to check before contacting IT
- Confirm you are using a current Edge installation and that the page itself has focus.
- Try both Ctrl+Shift+S and the page’s right-click menu.
- Look in Settings and more for Screenshot.
- If all three locations are absent on a work-managed device, ask your administrator whether WebCaptureEnabled is disabled.
Do not attempt to bypass an organization’s browser policy. Your administrator can decide whether the feature is available and which data-capture controls apply.

The shortcut does nothing
Make sure the Edge page is active and press Ctrl+Shift+S again. If the menus also lack Screenshot, an Edge version issue or the WebCaptureEnabled policy is more likely than a keyboard failure. On macOS, verify that Screenshot is exposed by policy and available in Edge’s menus.

I captured only what I could see
You probably used Snipping Tool or Print Screen, or chose a regular selection in Edge. Reopen Edge Screenshot and explicitly select Capture full page; that is the option that includes content below the fold.
The browser frame is missing
That is expected from Edge’s full-page webpage capture. If the address bar, tabs or another application must appear, use Windows Snipping Tool’s Full screen or Window mode instead.
The capture shows the wrong animation frame
GIFs and carousels may continue moving during capture. Pause the element at the desired frame before you finish the Screenshot operation, then inspect the saved image.
The page changes while Edge captures it
Live feeds, rotating promotions, ads and lazy-loaded content can change during a long capture. Wait for the page to settle, dismiss anything that obscures the content, and repeat the capture if the final image is inconsistent. For records that must be repeatable, note the page state and capture time.

The result is too large to share
Full-page images can exceed the practical size for email, issue trackers or chat. Save the original first, then make a copy resized for sharing or split the relevant sections. Keep the original unchanged if it may be needed for evidence.

Can Edge save a full-page capture as a PDF?
Edge’s Screenshot workflow described here produces an image through its Copy and Save controls. For an automated PDF, use a PDF-capable capture workflow such as ScreenshotNeo’s capture_pdf MCP tool or its PDF options.
Does Edge’s full-page capture include content hidden behind a scroll container?
The documented command captures the webpage beyond the viewport. A separate element with its own scrollable container may require an element-specific workflow or a page adjustment so the required content is exposed.

No. Ctrl+Command+F toggles Edge’s browser full-screen display. Screenshot availability on macOS uses the Screenshot feature and its Ctrl+Shift+S/menu entry when policy and browser support allow it.
