The quickest way to capture an entire web page as a PDF is to use your browser’s print or share command, choose a PDF destination, and inspect the saved file from the first page to the last. Desktop Chrome and Firefox use print preview; Android browsers offer Save as PDF in their share or print flows; Safari on iPhone can save a marked-up webpage as a PDF. A full-page screenshot is a different, continuous-image style of capture.
Choose the kind of PDF you need
“Entire page” can describe two different results:

Print-to-PDF is normally the better choice when searchable text and page-by-page review matter. A full-page screenshot is useful when preserving the on-screen appearance matters more than pagination. Neither method is a complete website archive: scripts, forms, video, animation and other interactive behavior do not become a working offline site.
Before you save the page
- Wait for the page to finish rendering. Let fonts, images and expandable sections appear. If the page loads content as you scroll, scroll through it once before opening print preview.
- Check your access. A signed-in or paywalled page exports only what is rendered and available in that browser session. Do not treat the PDF as a copy of content you could not access.
- Decide whether backgrounds matter. Background colors and images are often optional in print dialogs. Enabling them can improve visual fidelity but may use more ink when printed.
Save an entire page as PDF on a desktop
Google Chrome on Windows, Linux or Mac
- Open the webpage and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. You can also open Chrome’s menu and choose Print.
- In the print dialog, select the PDF destination, such as Save as PDF.
- Review the preview. Set page range to all pages, then choose paper size, orientation, scale, margins and background graphics as needed.
- Choose Save, select a folder and reopen the file. Check the final page and several pages containing images or tables.
Chrome’s output is a paginated print rendering, not a full-length screenshot. A page can therefore look different from the browser window, especially when the site supplies a print-specific stylesheet.

Mozilla Firefox on Windows, Linux or Mac
- Open the page and choose Menu > Print.
- Set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Adjust orientation, page range, color, paper size, scale, margins, headers and footers, and print backgrounds when those controls are available.
- Inspect the preview, save the PDF and review it from beginning to end.
Firefox notes that webpages can deliberately arrange themselves differently for paper than for a screen. If a sidebar, navigation bar or decorative image disappears, that may be the page’s print layout rather than a failed export.
Save a webpage as PDF on Android
Chrome for Android
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share, and choose Print.
- In the destination list, select Save as PDF.
- Choose a location, then save. Open the downloaded PDF and confirm that the last section is present.
Firefox for Android
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Tap the three-dot menu, then Share.
- Tap Save as PDF, then Download.
- Open the file from the completion prompt or from the Downloads list and check the ending.
Mobile print dialogs have less room than desktop previews. If the result stops early, repeat the export after scrolling through the page and verify the page range or destination settings shown by your device.
Save a webpage as PDF on iPhone
Safari’s PDF and Markup flow
- Open the page in Safari and tap More or the Share button, depending on your toolbar layout.
- Choose Markup if you want to annotate the page.
- Tap Done, choose Save File To, name the PDF and select a destination.
- Open the saved file in the Files app and verify the final page.
Firefox for iOS full-page screenshot
Firefox for iOS documents a screenshot-based route: take an iOS screenshot, select Full Page in the screenshot interface, tap Done and choose Save as PDF. The exact screenshot controls can vary with the iPhone model and iOS version. This creates a full-page visual capture rather than a conventional print document.

Fix common PDF capture problems
The PDF ends before the webpage ends
- Open print preview and confirm that the page range includes every page.
- Scroll through the original page first so lazy-loaded sections and images have a chance to appear.
- Try the browser’s full-page screenshot route where your platform provides one.
Text is tiny or content is clipped
- Change orientation from portrait to landscape for wide tables.
- Adjust scale, paper size, margins or page range in print preview.
- Use a larger paper size only when the document’s intended audience and printer support it.
Images or colored backgrounds are missing
- Enable print backgrounds or background graphics when the dialog exposes that option.
- Wait for images to finish loading and retry.
- Remember that a site can use a different print stylesheet, so some screen-only artwork may be intentionally omitted.
The page contains a cookie banner, chat bubble or newsletter popup
Dismiss overlays before printing. If an overlay reappears or blocks the page, use the site’s close control, reload after accepting the consent choice, or capture only after the page is unobstructed. A browser PDF records what is rendered at export time.

Sign in and complete the required interaction before exporting. The PDF contains the accessible rendered state, not the site’s scripts, databases or gated material that was never displayed.
The PDF has unexpected blank pages or headers
Inspect margins, scale, paper size and browser-added headers or footers. Changing orientation or reducing margins usually reveals whether a forced page break is responsible. Reopen the final file rather than relying only on the preview.

Check the file before you rely on it
Review the first page, a middle page with images or tables, and the final page. Look for cut-off headings, missing figures, blank pages, unreadably small text and unwanted URL or date headers. A PDF is ready to share only after this check; a successful download does not prove that every rendered section made it into the file.

Why does my PDF look different from the screen?
Print preview applies pagination and the site’s print CSS, while screen styles use a different layout. Page size, orientation, scale and margins also change the result.

Can I capture a page that loads more content while I scroll?
Scroll through the page before exporting so lazy-loaded sections have an opportunity to render, then inspect the PDF’s final page.
How do I know whether the export succeeded completely?
Reopen the saved file and check the beginning, a representative middle page and the ending for missing sections, images or blank pages.
