Yes—you can combine multiple canvases into one PDF by exporting each canvas as a page in a single, multi-page document. The exact command depends on whether your canvases are separate Procreate artworks, layers in one Procreate file, Photoshop artboards, or pages in Canva. Choose the matching workflow below, then open the finished PDF to verify page count, order, orientation, cropping, and readability.
Choose the workflow that matches your canvases
“Multiple canvases” can mean different structures. Exporting separate files is not the same as exporting layers, artboards, or pages. Use this decision table before you start.

Decide first whether you want one image per page or several images arranged together on a page. Procreate’s batch export creates separate artwork pages, while Canva lets you build a collage-like page and add more pages.
Combine separate Procreate canvases into one PDF
- Open Procreate’s Gallery.
- Tap Select, then tap every artwork (or stack) you want to include.
- Tap Share.
- Choose PDF as the export format.
- Save the generated file to Files, iCloud Drive, or another destination.
Procreate’s official export guidance says each selected artwork becomes a separate page in one PDF: Export, Share, and Print. Before sharing the file, open it in a PDF viewer and count the pages. If the order matters, arrange the artworks in the desired sequence before selecting them and verify the result afterward.

When a stack is selected
Selecting a stack can include the artworks inside it. If you need a precise sequence, open the stack, check the artwork order, and select only the canvases intended for the document. Keep a copy of the original files; PDF export is a delivery format, not a substitute for editable Procreate documents.
Export Procreate layers as PDF pages
If “canvases” are actually layers within one Procreate file, use the layer-sharing command rather than exporting the artwork as one flattened image.
- Open the artwork.
- Tap Actions (the wrench icon).
- Choose Share.
- Under Share Layers, choose PDF.
- Save the resulting document.
According to the Procreate Handbook 5.3, each layer becomes a PDF page. The bottom layer is page one and the top layer is the last page. Hidden layers and layer visibility should therefore be checked before export. This workflow is different from exporting the whole artwork, which produces a single page.
Important Procreate PDF limitation
Procreate warns that importing a multi-page PDF rasterizes vectors and text (Import and Share). That warning applies to Procreate’s PDF import behavior; it does not establish how every other PDF application handles editable objects. Keep the native Procreate file if you may need to edit text or vector content later.

Combine Photoshop artboards into one multi-page PDF
- Open the Photoshop document containing the artboards.
- Choose File > Export > Artboards To PDF.
- In the export dialog, select Multi-Page Document.
- Choose whether to export all artboards or only selected artboards.
- Set the required options, such as page order, background inclusion, and encoding.
- Choose a destination and export.
Adobe’s instructions for exporting artboards as PDF document the multi-page option. The dialog can reverse artboard order, include or omit backgrounds, and use ZIP or JPEG encoding. The Adobe page was updated 2 December 2025, so labels can differ slightly in older Photoshop releases.
Prevent unexpected artboard pages
- Rename artboards with a sortable prefix such as 01-Cover, 02-Overview, and 03-Details.
- Use the dialog’s selected-artboard option when the file contains drafts or alternate versions.
- Use reverse order only when your intended reading sequence requires it.
- Open the PDF and confirm that each artboard has the expected dimensions and background.
Combine images or Canva pages into one PDF
Canva is useful when several images must be arranged together on a page, or when you need a designed document with multiple pages.
- Create or open a Canva design with the page size you need.
- Upload your images and place them on the first page.
- Add pages for additional image groups, keeping one image per page if that is your requirement.
- Use the page thumbnails to arrange the pages in reading order.
- Click Share, then Download.
- Select a PDF format and download the design.
Canva describes this image-combining process at Image combiner. It supports positioning multiple images on one page rather than forcing every source image to become a separate PDF page.
Flattening in Canva
Canva’s flattened-PDF guidance explains that flattening turns design elements into a static image and can increase file size (Download designs as flattened PDF). Flatten when preserving the exact visual appearance is more important than retaining editable elements in PDF software. Leave the design unflattened when downstream editing is needed and your recipient’s workflow supports it.

Set page size, quality, and order before sending
Page dimensions and orientation
Match the destination: a screen document may use the design’s existing dimensions, while a printed handout should use the paper size and orientation required by the printer. If source canvases have different proportions, expect whitespace, cropping, or scaling unless you standardize the pages in the source application.
Image quality and file size
Use the highest practical export quality available in your application, then inspect fine text and edges at 100% zoom. Large, detailed canvases can create a large PDF; resizing images or choosing a more efficient encoding may reduce size, but compare the result visually before replacing the original export.
Order and completeness checklist
- Page count equals the number of intended artworks, layers, artboards, or design pages.
- Cover or first page appears first.
- Portrait and landscape pages are oriented correctly.
- No page is unexpectedly blank, cropped, or duplicated.
- Text, transparency, and colors look correct in a second PDF viewer.
- Links or annotations, if required, still work after export.
Troubleshooting common export problems
The PDF has one page instead of many
You probably exported a flattened artwork or a single image. In Procreate, use Gallery multi-selection for separate artworks or Actions > Share > PDF for layers. In Photoshop, choose Multi-Page Document, not a separate PDF per artboard. In Canva, add multiple design pages before downloading.
Pages are in the wrong order
Check the source order and the application’s ordering rule. Procreate layer exports run bottom-to-top. Photoshop can reverse artboard order. Canva follows page-thumbnail order. Reorder, export again, and verify the PDF rather than relying on filenames alone.

An image is clipped or has unexpected borders
The source aspect ratio does not match the PDF page. Resize or reposition the image inside the target page, change the page dimensions, or accept letterboxing intentionally. Inspect every edge at 100% before printing.
Text or vectors are no longer editable
Some workflows flatten or rasterize content. Keep the native source file. Procreate specifically documents rasterization when a multi-page PDF is imported back into Procreate; do not assume a PDF will preserve editability in every application.
The PDF is too large to email
Remove unused pages, reduce oversized images, or export with a more efficient encoding where the application offers it. If quality is critical, share the original PDF through storage rather than repeatedly recompressing it.

Will combining canvases preserve transparency?
Not necessarily. Check the export format and PDF viewer. A transparent canvas may acquire a white or colored background during export, especially when a design page or background option is applied.
