On an iPhone 13, press and quickly release Side + Volume Up, tap the screenshot preview, then choose Full Page. The option is shown only when the current app and content support a full-page capture; it is not guaranteed on every screen. Apple’s documented example is a complete webpage in Safari.
If Full Page is missing, open the original page directly in Safari, make sure the screenshot controls are open, and try another ordinary webpage. If the control still does not appear in Safari, update iOS and contact Apple Support. The available documentation does not establish a model-wide iPhone 13 defect or one universal fix.
How to take a full-page screenshot on iPhone 13
- Open the webpage in Safari and wait until it has finished loading.
- Quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up button together.
- Tap the screenshot preview to open the editing controls. Depending on your settings and iOS version, the controls may appear as a larger interface rather than only the small thumbnail.
- Tap Full Page at the top of the editor.
- Review the long preview. Drag the crop handles if you need only part of the page, then use the share or save controls.
Apple’s iPhone guide documents this workflow and shows a whole Safari webpage being captured. The same guide also describes markup, cropping and saving. Siri, AssistiveTouch and Back Tap can invoke a screenshot as alternatives to the two-button shortcut, but you still need to open the screenshot controls and select Full Page when the option is offered. Why the Full Page button is missing
The app or content does not expose a full-page document
Full-page capture is contextual. Apple uses Safari as its primary example; Apple’s iOS 17 feature description specifically names Safari, Pages and Notes for saving a full-page capture as an image or PDF. That is a statement about those apps and that feature release, not a promise that every third-party app, feed, canvas or embedded browser supports it. A screen in a social app, game, PDF viewer or custom web view may offer only a normal screenshot.

A page can also be technically scrollable without providing the document structure that iOS needs for a single full-page result. In that case, scrolling the screen does not make the button appear.
You are viewing an in-app browser
Links opened from mail, messaging or social apps often remain inside that app’s web view. Its screenshot controls may not include full-page capture. Use the share menu to open the same URL in Safari, then repeat the standard steps. This is a troubleshooting suggestion, not a guarantee for every site.
The screenshot editor was not opened
The Full Page tab appears after the ordinary screenshot, inside its controls. If you dismissed the thumbnail immediately, take the screenshot again and tap the preview before it disappears. If your phone presents a full-screen screenshot interface, use that interface rather than waiting for a small thumbnail.

Interface differences between iOS releases
Apple’s current online guide is surfaced as an iOS 27 version, while Apple’s feature document describes the capability in iOS 17. The basic Face ID workflow applies to an iPhone 13, but labels and the way the editor opens can vary with the installed iOS version and settings. Updating iOS is sensible when the control is absent even on ordinary Safari pages, but Apple’s published material does not identify a specific iPhone 13 bug.

What full-page capture supports—and what it saves

Apple’s iOS 17 feature document says: “Choose whether to save a full-page screenshot in Safari, Pages, or Notes as an image or a PDF.” The exact save destination and format depend on the app and installed iOS. Apple’s general guide emphasizes saving screenshots to Photos, while a full-page document may instead be saved or shared as a PDF.
A reliable troubleshooting sequence
- Test a known Safari page. Open a conventional, text-based webpage directly in Safari rather than inside another app. Let the page finish loading.
- Repeat the shortcut. Press and release Side + Volume Up together; do not hold them, because holding can invoke other controls.
- Open the controls. Tap the preview or use the full-screen screenshot editor if that is how your phone is configured.
- Look for Full Page. If it appears, select it, inspect the preview and save or share the result.
- Compare with another Safari page. If the button appears on one page but not another, the original page, embedded content or app is the likely constraint.
- Use the page’s own export. Look for Print, Export, Download or Share to PDF in the app or website. This is often the correct route for documents that iOS cannot combine into a screenshot.
- Update and escalate. Install any available iOS update, reopen Safari and retry. If Full Page remains absent on ordinary Safari webpages, contact Apple Support with the iOS version, URL and exact steps. For a third-party app, also report the behavior to that app’s developer.
Common symptoms and the appropriate fix
- “I only see Screen and Full Page is not listed.” You are probably in an app or content type without support, or the screenshot controls were not fully opened. Test the same operation on a Safari webpage.
- “The page is inside Instagram, Gmail or another app.” Open the link in Safari using the app’s share or open-in-browser command. In-app browsers can expose fewer capture options.
- “The preview is blank or stops partway down.” Wait for the page and lazy-loaded content to finish, then retry. If the site still does not provide a complete document to iOS, use its print/export or PDF function.
- “The result is an image, but I need a PDF.” Check the app’s share and save actions. Apple’s iOS 17 description identifies image or PDF saving for Safari, Pages and Notes; presentation varies by app and OS.
- “Buttons work separately but not together.” Press and release Side and Volume Up simultaneously and briefly. If hardware use is difficult, configure AssistiveTouch, Back Tap or Siri as an alternate screenshot trigger.
- “It worked before, but not after a page redesign.” Test another page. A site’s scripts, embedded frames or unusual scrolling container can change whether iOS recognizes a full-page document.
What this does—and does not—prove about iPhone 13
The available Apple documentation describes a supported feature and its normal workflow; it does not publish an iPhone 13-specific failure rate, a universal defect notice or a single repair procedure. Therefore, a missing button on one page is not evidence that every iPhone 13 has a hardware problem. Record the app, URL, iOS version and whether another Safari page works before seeking support. That information distinguishes an app/content limitation from a device-wide issue.

When a PDF or another capture method is better
Use the site or app’s export
For invoices, articles, forms and reports, Print, Export, Download or Share to PDF usually preserves selectable text and pagination better than a very tall image. It also avoids failures caused by pages that load content only while scrolling.
Capture only the visible screen
If the document is intentionally paginated or interactive, a normal screenshot may be the most faithful record. Take separate screenshots and label them when a single stitched image would hide interactions or animations.
Use a desktop or server capture for a webpage you control
For recurring documentation, testing or archival work, an automated browser screenshot can be more consistent than a phone capture. It can set a fixed viewport, wait for network activity and save a predictable file. That is a different workflow from the iPhone’s contextual Full Page control.
