The best Firefox method depends on what you mean by “all images.” To obtain separate image files, open Page Info → Media and save the items you need one by one. To keep an offline copy of the page and its pictures, use Save Page As → Web page, complete. To create one visual record of the rendered page, use Firefox’s Save full page screenshot. Firefox’s current official help documents individual media saves, not a dependable one-click export of every image on a page.

Decide whether you need original assets, a viewable archive, or a single picture. A screenshot can show everything a visitor sees while still containing none of the source JPEG, PNG, WebP or SVG files.

Save individual images with Page Info
Page Info is Firefox’s built-in inspection window for media loaded by the current page. It is the most direct method when you need image files rather than a screenshot.
- Open the page. Wait for the images you want to finish loading. If content appears only after scrolling or clicking, perform those actions first.
- Open Page Info. Use the Firefox menu’s site-information/Page Info command, or press Ctrl+I on Windows or Linux. On macOS, press Command+I.
- Select the Media tab. Firefox lists images, background files and other media it has loaded. The panel can show a preview, file type, dimensions and size.
- Select an item and save it. Use the panel’s save control, choose a destination and repeat for each image you want.
Save one visible image faster
For a single image displayed in the document, right-click it and choose Save Image As…. On a Mac, use Ctrl-click if needed. Choose the local folder and confirm the filename. This shortcut may save a displayed image without opening Page Info.

What Page Info can and cannot see
The Media panel concerns media Firefox loaded for that page. It may include CSS background images and files that are not obvious in the document, but it is not a site-wide crawler. Images on another URL, items behind a login, content loaded only after a particular interaction, and assets blocked by the page or browser may not be listed. Scroll through long or lazy-loaded pages and trigger relevant controls before reopening or refreshing Page Info.
Can Firefox save every listed image at once?
Do not rely on a current, universal “save all media” command. Mozilla’s official help explains how to inspect and save individual entries. A historical Mozilla Support discussion about Firefox 84 reported a multiple-selection problem and a moderator said a fix arrived in versions 85/86; that version-specific report is not a guarantee that a bulk export is available today or that it works on every site.
If you need a folder of separate assets, select and save the required entries deliberately. Check each filename and extension afterward: a page may expose thumbnails, responsive variants, tracking pixels, icons and the full-resolution file as separate media items.
Save the complete page with its pictures
Use this route when your priority is preserving how the page works and looks offline, with its associated resources.

- Open the page and wait for the content you want to preserve.
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Save Page As.
- In the file-format selector, choose Web page, complete.
- Pick a destination and save.
- Keep the generated HTML file and its associated directory together. Firefox places pictures and other files needed to display the saved page in that directory.
Open the saved HTML file to test the archive. Moving only the HTML file, renaming the resource directory, or deleting its contents can leave broken images. The Web page, HTML only option saves the original page without pictures, so it is the wrong choice when images matter.
Why this is not an image downloader
The complete-page directory can contain stylesheets, scripts, fonts, icons and duplicate or transformed resources in addition to photographs and illustrations. Use Page Info when you need to curate image files; use a complete save when the page itself is the deliverable.
Capture the entire page as one image
For a visual record rather than source assets, Firefox can render and capture the full document.
- Right-click an empty part of the page and choose Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux. On macOS, press Command+Shift+S.
- Choose Save full page.
- Save the resulting image file.
The output is one rendered image. It will not preserve the original resolution of each embedded picture, extract CSS backgrounds as separate files, or provide editable source assets.

When images are missing
Lazy-loaded images
Many pages request images only as they approach the viewport. Scroll from top to bottom, wait for each section to populate, then inspect Page Info or save the complete page again. If a control loads a gallery or tab, open it before collecting media.
Responsive and thumbnail variants
A site may load several widths for the same picture. Compare the dimensions and file sizes shown in Page Info. A larger pixel dimension is usually the better source, but do not assume it is an unrestricted original: the site may deliver only a resized derivative.
Images behind accounts, consent or scripts
Sign-in requirements, consent choices, anti-bot checks and failed requests can prevent Firefox from loading an asset. Resolve the page’s legitimate access prompt first. Do not treat a missing Page Info entry as proof that the image does not exist on the site.
Background images and unusual formats
Background files can appear in Page Info even when no right-clickable image is visible. WebP, AVIF, SVG and other formats may open in a browser but behave differently in image editors. Preserve the original extension and convert only in a separate step if your workflow requires JPEG or PNG.

Organize a large collection safely
- Create a folder per page or project before saving; identical names such as
image.webpcan otherwise overwrite or confuse files. - Keep a text note of the source page and capture date when provenance matters.
- Sort by dimensions or file size after downloading to remove tiny icons and tracking pixels.
- Keep the complete-page HTML and resource directory together if you used that method.
- Respect copyright, licenses, privacy and the website’s terms. Saving a file for personal reference does not automatically grant permission to republish it.

Firefox method or API: a practical decision
- Choose Page Info when you need selected original media files and can review them manually.
- Choose Web page, complete when the offline page and its supporting resources are more important than a clean asset folder.
- Choose Save full page when one rendered image is sufficient.

Does saving a complete web page preserve interactive behavior?
Not reliably. It preserves files Firefox saved for display, but server-side features, live data, authentication and network-backed interactions may not work offline.
Can I use Firefox’s screenshot tool to recover the original image files later?
No. A full-page screenshot is a flattened rendering. Save the media separately if you need source files.
Is there a guaranteed way to download every image from an entire website?
No single Firefox page command provides that guarantee. Page Info covers media loaded on the current page; collecting a whole site requires a separate, permission-aware crawler or download workflow.
