To save a webpage as a PDF on your phone: use Safari’s Share or page menu → Markup → Done → Save File To on an iPhone. On Android in Chrome, use More → Share → Print → Save as PDF. Choose a storage location, save the file, and open it once to check for clipped sections or missing images.
The exact labels and icons can differ by iOS, Android, Chrome, or Safari version, but the functions are the same. The steps below cover both platforms, explain where the file goes, and show what to do when a page does not export cleanly.

How to convert a webpage to PDF on an iPhone
Safari can turn the page currently on screen into a PDF and send it to the Files app. Load the page fully first, especially if it contains images, tables, or content that appears as you scroll.
- Open Safari and go to the webpage you want to keep.
- Wait for the page to finish loading. Scroll through it once if images or sections load lazily.
- Tap Safari’s page menu or the Share button (the icon and location vary by iPhone version).
- Tap Markup. Safari opens a PDF-style preview of the webpage.
- Add highlights, drawings, or notes if needed, then tap Done.
- Choose Save File To, select a folder in Files or a connected storage location, enter a filename, and tap Save.
Apple describes this feature as a way to mark up a webpage and “share your document as a PDF with others.” Markup is optional; you can simply tap Done and save without adding annotations.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
If Safari shows an Options button
Some current Safari builds put an Options control in the Share sheet. If it appears, choose PDF before sending the page to Files. Treat this as a user-interface variation: if your phone offers Markup directly, follow the Markup route above.
How to save a web page as a PDF on Android
Chrome on Android uses the system print preview. The resulting PDF is saved wherever you choose in the save dialog.
- Open Chrome and load the webpage.
- Tap the three-dot More menu.
- Tap Share, then choose Print. On some phones, Print may be listed directly in the More menu.
- In the printer selector, choose Save as PDF.
- Tap the save icon, Save, or Print (the button name depends on the Android print service).
- Select a folder or storage location, name the file, and confirm.
If you do not see Save as PDF, open the printer drop-down at the top of the preview. It may initially show a physical printer or “Select a printer.”
Where the PDF is saved
iPhone
Safari sends the document through the Files save flow. You choose the destination, such as On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, or another provider enabled in Files. To find it later, open Files, browse to the folder you selected, and sort by name or date.

Android
Chrome’s print preview asks for a destination before saving. Depending on your phone, the default may be Downloads, Documents, internal storage, an SD card, or a cloud-storage provider. Open your Files app and check the folder shown in the save dialog if you cannot locate the document.
Choose the right kind of PDF
A normal browser export attempts to preserve the webpage as laid out on screen. That can include navigation bars, cookie notices, advertisements, comments, and other elements that are useful online but undesirable in an archive.
Full webpage capture
Use the standard Safari or Chrome route when you need the complete page, including long sections, tables, or references. Before saving, dismiss overlays and let images finish loading.
Reader or simplified view
If Safari or another browser offers a reader-style view, it can produce a cleaner document by removing navigation and unrelated page furniture. Reader view is not available for every site and may omit interactive elements, sidebars, or content that the browser cannot identify as article text.

Print layout controls
Android’s print preview may expose paper size, orientation, color, and page settings. These controls can change pagination but cannot guarantee that a responsive webpage will fit perfectly. Preview several pages before sharing an important document.
Check the PDF before you share it
Opening the file is the fastest way to catch an export problem. Check these items:
- The first and last sections are present.
- Long paragraphs, tables, and lists are not cut off at page boundaries.
- Images, charts, and captions appear rather than empty placeholders.
- Text is readable at normal zoom and is not hidden beneath a header or footer.
- Cookie banners, chat bubbles, sticky navigation, and popups are absent if you did not intend to keep them.
- The filename and destination are correct before you attach or upload the file.
If the page is incomplete, return to the browser, wait for every section to load, close overlays, and repeat the same export route. A website can render differently in a PDF because its CSS may depend on screen width, print styles, scripts, or blocked resources.
Common problems and fixes
The PDF is blank or only contains the header
Cause: the page relies on scripts or lazy loading that had not finished. Fix: stay on the page longer, scroll through the entire article to trigger deferred content, then export again. If the site requires a login, sign in before opening the print or Markup preview.

Images are missing
Cause: images may still be loading, require a blocked request, or be supplied only after interaction. Fix: refresh on a reliable connection, wait for image placeholders to resolve, and repeat the export. Saving a reader view may intentionally remove decorative images.
Content is cut off or split awkwardly
Cause: the page’s responsive or print CSS does not match the phone’s paper layout. Fix: try landscape orientation or a different paper size in Android print preview; on iPhone, use a reader view when available, or zoom the page to a sensible width before opening Markup.
A cookie banner or popup covers the page
Cause: the overlay is part of the webpage and was present when the PDF was generated. Fix: accept or reject the consent prompt, close the popup, and dismiss chat widgets before exporting. If the banner cannot be closed, use a clean-capture service described below.
The Print option is missing on Android
Cause: the menu is collapsed or the device’s print service is disabled. Fix: open More → Share and swipe through the share targets; then check Android Settings for the system print service and enable it. Menu names differ by manufacturer.
I cannot find the saved file
Cause: the save dialog used a different folder or cloud provider than expected. Fix: open Files (iPhone) or your file manager (Android), search for the filename or “.pdf,” and check the location displayed immediately before you confirmed Save.

Save to a USB flash drive from your phone
A phone-compatible USB flash drive is optional; both official workflows can save locally without one. Before buying or connecting a drive, verify whether your phone has USB-C or Lightning, whether the drive supports your phone’s file system, and whether the current listing explicitly says it works with your model. On iPhone, the Files app is used to move the saved PDF to an attached drive. On Android, use the file manager’s Move or Copy command after saving.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need repeatable captures, ScreenshotNeo can request a webpage from an API and return a clean screenshot or PDF. It accepts the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.
Use the API documentation at https://screenshotneo.com/docs/ for the available PDF and capture options. A basic request is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python:
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js:
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo also provides an MCP server with take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Plans include 1,000 free shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.

| Repeatable captures or AI workflows | ScreenshotNeo API or MCP | Automates capture and removes common consent banners, popups, and chat widgets. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I convert a webpage to PDF without installing an app?
Yes. Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android include the required PDF export controls.
Will links in the webpage remain clickable?
Often, but not universally. Whether links survive as interactive PDF links depends on the browser, page code, and print layout.
Can I edit the PDF after saving it?
You can annotate an iPhone PDF in Markup, while fuller editing requires a PDF editor that supports your phone and file type.
