Google announced Chrome 98.0.4758.102 for the Stable channel on Windows, Mac, and Linux on February 14, 2022. Its announcement does not provide an exact offline installer link or confirm that Google still offers this build. Treat it as a historical release, and do not rely on an unverified download site for an installer.

Is there an official offline installer for this exact build?
The February 14 announcement does not identify an offline installer URL, filename, package format, architecture, or checksum for version 98.0.4758.102. It therefore cannot substantiate a specific download link as Google’s official offline installer. The sources available here also do not establish whether Google still distributes this exact version.

What changed in Chrome 98.0.4758.102?

Google’s February 1 Chrome 98 Stable announcement said the initial release included 27 security fixes. That figure applies to the initial Chrome 98 announcement; it should not be presented as a verified fix count for .102.
Chrome 98 Enterprise release notes describe other release-context changes: the legacy U2F API was disabled by default, and Chrome no longer allowed TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1. Google explained that U2F had been superseded by the W3C Web Authentication API (WebAuthn), and said U2F would be removed in Chrome 104. These notes do not establish those changes as unique to build .102. See the Chrome Enterprise release notes and policies for the documented release context.

Should you install this old version?
Because 98.0.4758.102 dates to February 2022 and current support status is not established here, it should not be treated as a current everyday browser version. For ordinary browsing, use a current Chrome release obtained through Google’s official distribution channels. Install an older build only when a specific compatibility or testing requirement calls for it, and verify the source and security implications first.
