Can I join Google Meet without signing in?
Yes. Google Meet Help says you can join without a Google Account, but the organizer or a participant must let you in. Joining as a guest is different from creating a meeting: Google requires you to be signed in to create a new Meet video meeting or add a Meet link to a Google Calendar event.
How to use Google Meet without a Google Account
Join with an invitation link
- Open the Meet link from the email, calendar invitation, or message.
- Enter the name you want displayed to other participants.
- Select Ask to join, then wait for someone to admit you.
Join with a meeting code
- Go to meet.google.com.
- Select Enter code, enter the code, and select Join.
- Enter your display name, select Ask to join, and wait for approval.
What happens after you ask to join?
Your request does not guarantee entry. Depending on the meeting’s access settings, you may be admitted immediately, asked to wait for approval, or denied automatically. Google’s join instructions say an organizer or participant may let an unauthenticated guest in. In the security controls Google describes, people who are not on the calendar invitation must request access and only the host can admit them. Who can approve your request therefore depends on the meeting configuration.
Why might Google Meet deny or block a guest?
Meet access settings and organization policies can restrict entry. Google documents these access options for supported accounts; availability depends on the account and its configuration:

- Trusted: Some internal or invited participants can join without knocking; others must request entry.
- Restricted: Entry is limited to invited people or people admitted by a host; other guests must request entry.
Some configurations automatically deny requests from anonymous users. Google Workspace administrators can also control whether Meet is enabled for their organization and restrict which meetings its users can join. If you are denied or left waiting, contact the organizer and ask them to check that the meeting is active, confirm the link or code, and verify that the access settings and organization policy permit unauthenticated guests. What you need to join
Google lists a supported browser or the Meet or Gmail mobile app, a compatible device and operating system, broadband internet, and a camera for video meetings. Requirements can change, so check Google’s hardware and software requirements for Google Meet if you have trouble connecting.

Can you join by phone instead?
Possibly. Dial-in is available only when the meeting is organized by a Google Workspace user and an administrator has enabled it. Ask the organizer whether the invitation includes a phone number and PIN; this option is not available for every meeting.
