Google Antigravity has two separate Linux options: a graphical IDE and a command-line interface (CLI). For the IDE, download the Linux build that matches your CPU architecture from Google’s Linux download page. For the CLI, run Google’s installer command in a terminal. The IDE’s published minimums are glibc 2.28 and glibcxx 3.4.25.
Choose the IDE or the CLI

These are distinct installation paths. The CLI installer does not install the standalone IDE.
Check Linux compatibility for the IDE
Google lists minimum library versions of glibc 2.28 and glibcxx 3.4.25 for the Linux IDE. Its examples of distributions include Ubuntu 20, Debian 10, Fedora 36, and RHEL 8. The download page offers x64 and ARM64 builds. Check your system’s libraries and CPU architecture before downloading; Google does not publish an exhaustive compatibility matrix for every distribution, desktop environment, or package manager.
Install the standalone IDE
- Open Google’s Antigravity Linux download page.
- Select the Linux build that matches your CPU architecture: x64 or ARM64.
- Download and install the package using the method indicated on the live download page and your distribution. Check the page for the current release rather than relying on a version number in an older guide.
Install and start the CLI
- Open a terminal and run Google’s Linux installer command:
curl -fsSL https://antigravity.google/cli/install.sh | bash - The CLI installation guide documents the executable at
~/.local/bin/agy. If the command is not found, try its full path:~/.local/bin/agy. You may need to add~/.local/binto your shell’s PATH to runagywithout the full path. - In a fresh terminal, change to the project directory you want to work in, then run:
agy
Google’s CLI installation and authentication guide documents the installer and executable location; its getting-started guide describes launching the CLI from the target project directory.

Complete the CLI’s first-launch setup
On first launch, the CLI asks you to choose a color scheme and rendering mode, then to confirm that you trust the repository. Once you confirm trust, Antigravity indexes the project files. Only approve a workspace you intend to work in and trust.
