For the API preview endpoint, Google lists the model ID gemini-3.1-pro-preview, with 1,048,576 input tokens and 65,536 output tokens. The API reference lists support for functions including code execution, function calling, search grounding, structured outputs, thinking, and URL context. It lists image generation, audio generation, and Live API as unsupported for this endpoint. Where was Gemini 3.1 Pro available at launch?
Google announced the preview on February 19, 2026, with access rolling out through several products. These are launch-time details; availability and plan limits may have changed.
