Apple has not announced a release window for Apple Vision Pro 2. A reported late-2028-or-2029 timeframe is an uncertain possibility attributed to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman—not an Apple launch date—and separate reporting conflicts over whether a successor remains in development.
When is Apple Vision Pro 2 coming out?
There is no confirmed release date or window. Apple’s Vision Pro newsroom archive, reviewed through September 2026, includes the M5 model announcement but no Vision Pro 2 launch announcement. That describes the archive reviewed; Apple could announce a successor later. See Apple’s Vision Pro Newsroom archive.
The most specific timing in recent coverage is a possibility, not a schedule: MacRumors summarized Mark Gurman’s June 1, 2026 reporting as saying a slimmer, cheaper successor was unlikely before late 2028 or 2029. Gurman’s reported outlook is not a commitment from Apple. MacRumors’ June 1 report
Why reports disagree about a successor
A June 3, 2026 MacRumors article described analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s view that plans for a second Vision Pro had been removed. The same article said Gurman maintained that a Vision Pro 2 was “in testing” while the category was “on ice,” and repeated the late-2028-or-2029 outlook. These are attributed reports with differing accounts of the project’s status; they do not establish either a cancellation or a definite future launch. MacRumors’ June 3 report

What Apple has announced instead
Apple announced an M5-chip Apple Vision Pro with a Dual Knit Band on October 15, 2025, and said it would be available in Apple Store locations beginning October 22, 2025. It remains the latest Vision Pro model in the official materials reviewed here. Apple’s announcement
In that 2025 announcement, Apple listed a U.S. starting price of $3,499 and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage configurations. It listed the Dual Knit Band separately at $99 U.S. and said the band is compatible with the previous-generation Vision Pro. These are announcement-era figures, not verified live prices; nothing in the release establishes a Vision Pro 2 price or accessory compatibility with a future model.
