That is a historical launch price, not a confirmed current price for every version: Google’s current US pages now show a 400 GB AI Plus offer without a visible price and a separate 2 TB AI Plus plan listed at $9.99 per month. The difference matters if you are comparing the subscription with your existing Google storage plan.
How much does Google AI Plus cost in the US?
There is no single current price established across Google’s US pages. Google announced AI Plus in the US on January 27, 2026, at $7.99 per month and said new subscribers could get 50% off for their first two months for a limited time. Those were launch terms; they do not confirm today’s price or availability.
Google’s current US AI plans page shows a 400 GB AI Plus tier but does not display its price in the page reviewed. A separate Google One US pricing page lists a 2 TB AI Plus plan at $9.99 per month. Google’s pages do not explain how the two current versions relate or which subscribers are offered each one.
| Offer | Storage | Price shown | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|---|
| US launch offer, announced January 27, 2026 | 200 GB | $7.99/month | Google’s launch price; the company also advertised a limited-time 50% discount for the first two months for new subscribers. |
| Current US AI plans page, accessed September 28, 2026 | 400 GB | Not stated on that page | Current listing; do not assume the launch price applies. |
| Separate Google One US pricing page, accessed September 28, 2026 | 2 TB | $9.99/month | A separate listed AI Plus plan; Google does not explain its relationship to the 400 GB offer. |
Before subscribing, check the offer and renewal price shown for your Google account. The available information does not establish why the two current storage variants differ or whether every US customer can choose between them.

What does Google AI Plus include?
The current US AI plans page describes the 400 GB offer as providing more access to Google’s AI features, including 2x Gemini access compared with non-AI subscribers, more access to Gemini 3.1 Pro and Deep Research, and tools for generating images, music and video. It also lists multi-page report creation, more Gemini Notebook access, Gmail assistance and sharing with up to five other people.
Google Help says AI Plus benefits and storage depend on the specific plan. It describes a possible 2 TB AI Plus version with premium Meet and Calendar features. The precise tools, model access and usage limits can vary, so check the benefits displayed for the version offered to your account.

Gemini access is greater, not unlimited
Google’s “2x” description is a comparison with non-AI subscribers, not a promise of a fixed number of prompts or unlimited use. In a May 19, 2026 update, Google said Gemini app usage limits are compute-based: they depend on prompt complexity, features used and conversation length. Limits refresh every five hours until a weekly limit is reached.
Gemini Notebook and Flow Music
For Plus members, Google Help describes higher Gemini Notebook limits for Audio Overviews, flashcards, infographics, Q&A, quizzes, reports, slides and video overviews, with up to 100 sources per notebook.

These are Flow Music credits, separate from Google AI credits; Google’s estimate is not a guarantee of a particular number of finished songs.
How the included storage affects the value
Google storage is shared across Gmail, Drive and Google Photos. The 400 GB and 2 TB versions therefore represent materially different storage bundles, even before considering the AI features. If you mainly need more space, compare the exact AI Plus offer shown to you with your existing Google One plan and Google’s non-AI storage options rather than relying on the launch-era 200 GB description.

If you already pay for storage, the relevant question is whether the AI features you expect to use justify any difference in price and storage. Since the current 400 GB page does not show its price and Google’s pages do not clarify eligibility for the two variants, compare the account-specific offer and renewal terms before making that calculation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you share Google AI Plus with family?
Google’s launch announcement said the plan could be shared with up to five family members. Current Google Help terms specify that family members must be in the same country, and that only selected AI benefits are shared. Storage can be shared across the family group; the plan manager controls plan changes. Do not assume every member receives every AI feature or the plan manager’s individual access limits.

Who should consider Google AI Plus?
- It may suit you if you use Gemini and Google’s creative or research tools regularly, need more shared Google storage, and the specific plan offered to your account includes the features you want.
- Compare it carefully if storage is your main need. The available AI Plus versions have different storage amounts, and the 400 GB offer’s price is not stated on Google’s current AI plans page.
- It may not fit your needs if you expect unlimited Gemini use, need a feature unavailable on your device or in your region, or want all AI benefits shared equally with every family member.
Eligibility varies by feature, and Google lists age, account, country and device restrictions. For example, the Google Photos generative AI features described in Google Help are currently available in the US on Android, iPhone and iPad. Google cautions that some AI features are experimental and may produce inaccurate or inappropriate results. Check the terms for the specific feature and account you intend to use.
