Google’s Home Panel brings Google Home controls—such as lights, cameras, thermostats, and locks—to supported Google TV devices. Google lists Chromecast with Google TV, Google TV Streamer, and select Google TV panel TVs running Android 14 or higher, but does not publish a complete model-by-model compatibility list. Whether it works on a particular TV therefore depends on the model and whether Google has enabled the feature for it.
What the Google TV Home Panel does
The Home Panel is a control surface for smart-home devices connected to Google Home. Google lists lights, thermostats, locks, cameras, plugs, vacuums, TVs, and speakers among the supported device types. It includes areas such as cameras and lighting, along with a favorites area. Google says the panel reflects devices configured as favorites in the Google Home app.
Google also described doorbell notifications that let users see who is at the door without pausing what they are watching. The panel is intended to make common controls available from the TV, rather than replace the Google Home app.
Which Google TV devices are eligible?
Google identifies three eligible categories: Chromecast with Google TV, Google TV Streamer, and select Google TV panel TVs running Android 14 or higher. That wording does not mean every model in those categories has the feature. Google’s feature page does not provide a complete model-by-model list, so check the exact TV model with its manufacturer if you are deciding whether it is supported.

Google announced the Home Panel with Google TV Streamer in September 2024 and said updates for other Google TV devices were beginning. That announcement is historical, not a current rollout timetable or confirmation that a particular device has received the feature.
For a new purchase, the Google TV Streamer (4K) is one explicitly relevant option. Buying new hardware is not necessarily required if you already own a supported device.
