Choose the Google Pixel 10 Pro if you want a compact Google flagship and Google’s stated seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. Choose among the Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra if you want more size and feature tiers; the S26 Ultra has the broadest listed rear-camera hardware and supports the S Pen. Specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos, lasts longer on a charge, or runs faster.

Which models are the closest match?

The most direct size comparison is the Pixel 10 Pro and the base Galaxy S26: both are listed with 6.3-inch displays. The Pixel 10 Pro XL is a 6.8-inch phone, while Samsung offers two larger tiers, the 6.7-inch S26+ and 6.9-inch S26 Ultra. Those diagonals are not enough to establish that two phones feel alike in the hand, or that they are equivalent in price or features.

Model Display Weight Battery and charging Listed rear cameras
Google Pixel 10 Pro 6.3-inch LTPO OLED; 1–120 Hz; 1280 × 2856 7.3 oz 4,870 mAh typical; Google claims 24+ hours under its stated battery measure. Up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately; Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W. See Google’s official specifications for the camera configuration and features.
Google Pixel 10 Pro XL 6.8-inch LTPO OLED; 1–120 Hz; 1344 × 2992 8.2 oz 5,200 mAh typical. Up to 70% in about 30 minutes with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately; Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. See Google’s official specifications for the camera configuration and features.
Samsung Galaxy S26 6.3-inch full-rectangle diagonal (6.1 inches accounting for rounded corners); FHD+; 120 Hz adaptive refresh Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. 4,300 mAh typical; up to 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto
Samsung Galaxy S26+ 6.7-inch full-rectangle diagonal (6.5 inches accounting for rounded corners); QHD+; 120 Hz adaptive refresh Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. 4,900 mAh typical; up to 45W wired and 20W wireless charging. 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 6.9-inch full-rectangle diagonal (6.7 inches accounting for rounded corners); QHD+; 120 Hz adaptive refresh Not stated in the cited Samsung announcement. 5,000 mAh typical; Samsung’s UK guide lists up to 60W wired and 25W wireless charging; adapters sold separately. 200MP wide, 50MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto, 50MP 5x telephoto; supports S Pen

Google’s figures come from its Pixel 10 Pro specifications; the Galaxy S26 family’s display, battery, and camera details are from Samsung’s 2026 announcement. The Ultra charging figures are listed in Samsung’s UK S-series buying guide. Confirm the specifications for the model and market you plan to buy.

How should size and handling guide the choice?

For a smaller flagship

Start with the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy S26. Both are advertised as 6.3-inch phones, but the Pixel’s listed weight is 7.3 oz and Samsung’s cited announcement does not state the S26’s weight. Samsung also distinguishes its full-rectangle diagonal from the diagonal accounting for rounded corners. If pocketability or one-handed use is the deciding factor, compare the exact local model’s dimensions and weight rather than treating screen size as a complete ergonomic measure.

For a larger screen

The Pixel 10 Pro XL, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra all move into larger-screen territory, but serve different feature tiers. The Pixel XL has a 6.8-inch display; Samsung lists 6.7 inches for the S26+ and 6.9 inches for the Ultra. The S26+ and Ultra also differ in their listed camera hardware, and the Ultra supports an S Pen. Check width, weight, resolution, and local price before treating any of them as a direct equivalent.

What do the camera specifications tell you?

Samsung lists a dedicated 3x telephoto camera on all three S26 models. The S26 Ultra adds a 5x telephoto and lists higher-resolution main and ultrawide cameras. That makes its rear-camera hardware the most extensive in the S26 family by the specifications cited here. Google’s official specifications should be consulted for the Pixel models’ camera features; a lens count or megapixel figure does not determine real-world image quality.

No independent side-by-side photo test is established by the manufacturer specifications cited here. If camera quality is the deciding factor, compare independent reviews and sample photos for the exact models, including the kinds of scenes and zoom levels you use most.

How do the software-support promises compare?

Google says the Pixel 10 Pro receives “7 years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.” Samsung says the Galaxy S26 series will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date. These are similar stated durations, but the wording and clock start are not identical: Google’s cited product page does not specify the same launch-date phrasing, and Samsung’s statement does not include Pixel Drops.

Samsung’s 2026 announcement identifies Android 16 and One UI 8.5 for the S26 family. The cited information does not provide a full independent comparison of Pixel software and One UI, or verify feature availability by country and language. Check local availability for any particular software feature that matters to you.

What should you know about charging?

Google gives model-specific wired charging figures and names the required USB-C PPS charger wattage: 30W or higher for the Pixel 10 Pro’s stated up-to-55%-in-about-30-minutes figure, and 45W or higher for the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s up-to-70%-in-about-30-minutes figure. Google says those chargers are sold separately. Samsung lists up to 25W wired charging for the S26, 45W for the S26+, and—according to its UK guide—60W for the S26 Ultra; adapters are sold separately. Confirm the adapter, charging protocol, and regional phone model before buying a charger. Maximum charging figures do not by themselves predict a full-charge time.

How should you compare value?

Current prices, discounts, carrier offers, and trade-in values are not established consistently for these models. Compare the exact storage configuration and out-the-door price in your market. Include any separately sold charger you need, and weigh the S26 Ultra’s additional camera hardware and S Pen support against the size and cost of that tier rather than comparing it to the Pixel 10 Pro by screen diagonal alone.

Are the Galaxy S26 phones water-resistant?

Samsung describes IP68 testing as submersion in up to 1.5 m of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, and cautions that resistance may diminish with wear. This is not a promise that pool or seawater use is safe.
