They can be a sensible alternative for sleeping, especially if your AirPods feel uncomfortable when you lie on your side—but the Sleep A30 is a sleep-focused option, not a proven all-purpose AirPods replacement. Whether it works for you depends on your fit, the sounds you want to reduce, and whether you plan to stream Bluetooth audio all night or switch to local playback.
What the Sleep A30 is designed to do
Soundcore positions the Sleep A30 as earbuds for nighttime use. Its product listing describes active noise cancellation (ANC), passive sound isolation, and adaptive snore masking. Soundcore says ANC is intended to reduce lower-frequency sounds, while the ear tips provide passive isolation against higher-frequency sound. The listing also describes app features including sound customization, sleep monitoring and reports, auto-shutoff, and alarms. The exact listing uses both Sleep A30 and Sleep A30 Special naming, so check the regional product page and selected variant before assuming a feature or included content applies to the earbuds you are buying.
Will they be comfortable for side sleeping?
The package listing includes multiple sizes of silicone and foam ear tips and ear wings, and Soundcore positions the earbuds for side sleeping. A choice of tips can help you find a secure fit, but it cannot guarantee comfort: ear shape, the angle of the bud, and the pillow all matter.

In its review, Tom’s Guide found the design could work for side sleeping, but the reviewer sometimes felt pressure and had to adjust the fit. That is one person’s experience, not a prediction for every listener. If possible, check the seller’s return policy before relying on them as your nightly pair.
How long does the battery last in each mode?
Soundcore’s listed runtimes vary substantially with playback mode, volume, and ANC settings. They are manufacturer estimates, not a single guaranteed all-night figure. Soundcore’s product page gives these examples:

If you need continuous streaming through Bluetooth, use the Bluetooth estimate that best matches your volume and settings—not the local-audio maximum. The longer local-playback figure applies with ANC off, so it does not describe the same listening setup as Bluetooth with ANC.

- Choose Add Device.
- Select Sleep A30 and follow the app prompts.
Once connected, use the app to configure the sleep functions available for your specific A30 variant. Check the device name carefully if the app or store listing distinguishes the standard model from Special.

- Side-sleep comfort: Are your AirPods uncomfortable against the pillow? The A30 is designed for sleep, but your own fit is the deciding test.
- Playback: Do you need Bluetooth streaming all night, or can you use local audio after falling asleep? Choose the battery estimate that matches that use.
- Noise: Are you trying to reduce low-frequency noise with ANC, or higher-frequency sound through passive isolation? Neither should be treated as a promise of silence.
- App access: Are Soundcore’s app-based sleep functions useful to you, and are they available on the exact variant you plan to buy?
- Model match: Confirm the regional listing and whether it is the standard A30 or A30 Special before comparing features or bundle contents.
