For a PlayStation digital purchase, start at the official PlayStation Support contact guide and choose the issue-specific route under Store & Refunds. Check Transaction History first so you can identify the purchase and date. If you do not recognize a charge, use the Account & Security route instead.

Choose the right PlayStation Support route

PlayStation advises users to look up their issue to find the relevant contact method. Open the contact guide, select the category that fits, and follow the instructions shown for your country. For a digital purchase, start with Store & Refunds. Contact options and hours can vary by region and issue, so use the live regional page rather than relying on a phone number or chat route listed elsewhere.

Find the purchase in Transaction History

Use Transaction History to confirm the transaction, date, and charge before contacting support or starting a refund request. PlayStation’s online guide says the default history view covers the previous two years; use the available filters or other account records if the purchase is older.

Web: Sign in to Account Management and open Transaction History.
PS5: Go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Account → Payment and Subscriptions → Transaction History. A family manager can view family members’ transaction history.
PS4: Go to Settings → Account Management → Account Information → Wallet → Transaction History. The guide directs users to scan the QR code to view the history.
PlayStation App: Select PlayStation Store → menu → Transaction History.

Request a refund for an eligible purchase

If you want a refund, use the eligible transaction’s refund option or PlayStation’s online assistant to check eligibility. PlayStation’s US Store support hub says to open Transaction History, select an eligible transaction, choose Request Refund, and follow the instructions. The refund guide also directs users to the online assistant and advises contacting support if they still have trouble.

Eligibility is not automatic: it depends on the kind of purchase and the applicable PlayStation policy and local consumer rights. The cited US cancellation policy is specific to the US, not a promise of identical terms worldwide. Review the policy for your country before assuming a digital purchase can be refunded. For a US request, PlayStation says to have your Online ID, Sign-In ID (email address), and name of the purchase available.

What to do about a charge you do not recognize

First compare the transaction with recent purchases and subscriptions. A charge may be a subscription renewal, a family member’s purchase, or a duplicate transaction. If none explains it, follow PlayStation’s guidance for an unauthorized transaction or compromised account and choose Account & Security in the contact guide. Do not share your password or full payment-card details in a public post.

Use support information for your country

The contact and Store pages linked above are US pages, while the transaction-history example is UK-hosted and the refund guide is Ireland-hosted. Their steps are useful starting points, but interface labels, contact methods, refund rules, and consumer protections can differ. Select your country on PlayStation’s support site and follow the current instructions for that region.
