To get beta software off a Galaxy phone or tablet, first leave the One UI Beta Program in Samsung Members, then use Smart Switch on a computer to downgrade to the previous official OS. Leaving the program alone does not remove the beta. Samsung says rollback initializes the device, so back up important data first. For a Galaxy watch, Samsung directs users to a service center for rollback.
Leaving the beta is not the same as removing beta software
Withdrawing ends your participation in the test, but your phone or tablet stays on its installed beta build until you roll it back or install an official update. Samsung’s One UI Beta Team stated in a March 25, 2026, reply that “After withdrawing, please note that your device will remain on the Beta software.” Samsung Community
Choose between waiting for stable software and rolling back

Waiting is not guaranteed to provide an immediate stable build, and the official version offered may not match the beta build. Check the beta information for your enrolled test and your model’s available updates before choosing.
How to roll back a Galaxy phone or tablet with Smart Switch
1. Back up data you need
Save important files and information before starting. Samsung warns that rollback initializes or factory-resets the device, so data stored on it may be erased. Samsung Beta Tips

2. Withdraw from the beta
- Open Samsung Members and go to the detail page for the One UI beta test you joined.
- Open the menu and choose the option to leave or withdraw from the beta. Complete the withdrawal survey if prompted.
This is Samsung’s general guidance; menu labels and screens can vary by Samsung Members version, device, and region. Samsung’s Beta Tips page says that after leaving the test, users who want the previous official version can roll back through Smart Switch. Samsung Beta Tips
3. Run Downgrade in Smart Switch for PC
- Install Smart Switch on a computer.
- Connect the phone or tablet to the computer with a compatible USB data cable.
- Approve the connection on the Galaxy device if prompted, then open Smart Switch.
- Select Downgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.
Samsung says the device reboots to the previous official OS when rollback finishes. The Downgrade option and available software can vary by device and region; if the option is not shown, consult the beta information for your enrolled test or Samsung support rather than assuming the process is available for your model. How to remove beta software from a Galaxy watch

Check these details before starting
- Confirm the exact Galaxy model and region, since beta enrollment, official updates, and rollback availability vary.
- Check whether the beta is still active or has ended, and whether an official update is offered for your device.
- Make sure your backup is complete and accessible before a rollback reset.
- For a phone or tablet, have a computer and a compatible USB data cable that supports data transfer, not just charging.
- For a watch, contact a Samsung service center about rollback.
