What the reported Google Search test showed
PPC News Feed reported on August 30, 2026, that a mobile Google Search loading state displayed the words “Evaluating sponsored results” alongside Google and Gemini logos. The outlet credited Sachin Patel with spotting and sharing the observation. PPC News Feed’s report describes a sponsored-results loading state; it does not establish that the animation belonged to a particular related-products section.
PPC News Feed also attributed a clarification to Google: the test indicated that sponsored results were loading, and Gemini was not used to load the ads. That explanation is reported by the outlet, not a directly reviewed statement from a named Google spokesperson. The on-screen words are interface text, not a verified spokesperson quote.
Does it appear in the “related products and services” section?
That placement is not established by the available reports. They describe sponsored-results loading on mobile Search but do not identify a “related products and services” section as the location. The title’s specific section wording should therefore be treated as unconfirmed, rather than as a verified description of where Google showed the animation.

Search Engine Watch’s PPC archive lists another sponsored-results loading-animation test dated September 18, 2026, described as resembling the AI Overview loading style. The archive does not say whether this was the same test, a new variant, or a different observation. Search Engine Watch’s PPC archive does not resolve the animation’s placement within Search either.

How this relates to Google’s AI-assisted ad formats
Google’s May 20, 2026 announcement described experimental Search ad formats built with Gemini and said those formats would remain labeled “Sponsored.” That announcement is broader context about AI-assisted advertising; it does not confirm the loading animation, its function, or its location. Google’s May 20 announcement should not be read as confirmation that Gemini handled the ads in the reported loading test.
