1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe best Google One alternative depends on what you need beyond storage: Microsoft 365/OneDrive is a strong fit if you use Office apps, iCloud+ suits Apple households, Proton Drive is worth considering if default end-to-end encryption is a priority, and Dropbox offers a straightforward individual 2 TB plan. Compare local prices, storage allocation, sharing, and your devices before switching; there is no universally best replacement.
How to choose a Google One alternative
Google One storage is shared across Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail. Google accounts include up to 15 GB, while paid plan options and bundled benefits vary. At the time Google’s plans page was inspected on October 7, 2026, it displayed European prices including €1.99 per month for 100 GB, €9.99 per month for 2 TB under Google AI Plus, and €21.99 per month for 5 TB under Google AI Pro. Those tiers include additional AI and Google benefits, so they are not necessarily storage-only comparisons. See Google One plans.
- Capacity and allocation: Check the amount of storage you need and whether it is pooled for a household or assigned separately to each person.
- What is bundled: A plan that includes apps or other services may be better value if you will use them.
- Devices and workflow: Consider whether you mainly use Windows and Office, Apple devices and Photos, or a mix of platforms.
- Sharing and collaboration: Personal storage, family sharing, shared folders, editing, and public links are different needs.
- Privacy and recovery: Check which data is end-to-end encrypted by default, which security options are optional, and how recovery or sharing works.
- Price where you live: Prices below are examples displayed on official pages when inspected on October 7, 2026. Region, taxes, billing term, promotions, and eligibility can change the amount you pay.

Which service is right for you?
Choose OneDrive if you will use Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 Personal and Family pair OneDrive storage with desktop Office apps and other services. That can make the bundle appealing if you already need those apps. With Family, each of up to six people gets 1 TB rather than drawing from a common 6 TB pool. If you only want storage and would not use the bundle, compare the local price and alternatives before committing. Microsoft’s displayed prices are US examples, not guaranteed prices in other markets. Microsoft’s plan page lists capacities, prices, and automatic renewal.

Choose iCloud+ for an Apple-centered household
Apple offers several storage tiers, and iCloud+ storage can be shared with up to five other family members. Apple also lists features including Private Relay, Hide My Email, custom email domains, and HomeKit Secure Video; availability varies by country or region. Check how well your non-Apple devices and collaboration needs fit before moving your files. Do not assume all iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted by default: distinguish default protection from optional security settings. Apple’s iCloud+ page lists US pricing, while Apple Support describes plan details and regional availability.
Consider Proton Drive if default end-to-end encryption matters most
Proton describes Drive as end-to-end encrypted by default and lists apps for iOS, macOS, Android, Windows, and the web. Its free account includes 5 GB. Proton’s comparisons of encryption, jurisdiction, limits, and competing services are the company’s own claims, not an independent audit. Before switching, compare capacity, collaboration, recovery, and current paid-plan pricing against your needs; no comparable paid price is established here. Proton describes downloading from iCloud and uploading to Proton Drive as a migration route. Proton Drive and its migration guidance.

Choose Dropbox if you want an individual 2 TB plan
Dropbox Plus is listed as 2 TB for one person, with features including device access, file recovery, and file transfer limits. The page reviewed displayed €9.99 per month, which should not be treated as a universal offer. Compare the price on your regional page and consider whether Dropbox’s sharing and collaboration tools suit the work you do. Check Dropbox’s plans.

- Inventory what uses Google storage. Check Drive files, Photos, Gmail, shared content, and device backups against the account’s storage limit.
- Choose a destination with enough room. Allow for duplicate or temporarily staged files during transfer, not just the final amount you expect to keep.
- Transfer in manageable batches. Download and upload files as needed. Proton specifically describes downloading from iCloud and uploading to Proton Drive; transfer routes differ by service.
- Verify the destination before deleting anything. Open transferred files and check shared links, permissions, and device sync. Keep an independent local copy until those checks are complete.
- Check what happens if the old account is over quota or a subscription ends. Review the provider’s terms for files and email before removing a plan or relying on a reduced free allowance.
Cloud synchronization is not the same as an independent backup: a synchronized deletion or an account-access problem can affect the cloud copy. Keep another copy of important files if you need a separate recovery option.
