Plan for roughly 150-plus hours to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both story expansions, using the publisher’s broad Complete Edition estimate: over 100 hours for the base game and 50 additional hours for the expansions combined. That is a planning figure, not a guaranteed finish time or a separately defined main-story or completionist estimate.
How long is The Witcher 3 with both expansions?
Bandai Namco describes the Complete Edition’s base game as an “over 100-hour long” adventure and its two expansions as worth an “extra 50 hours of gameplay.” Together, those figures amount to a broad scale of over 150 hours. The page does not say whether the estimates assume a particular mix of story missions, side quests, exploration, or other optional activities.

The 50-hour figure applies to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine together; it is not 50 hours for each. Treat the total as publisher-facing guidance rather than a promise. Your time depends on what you mean by “beat”: the official descriptions cited here do not provide matching numeric estimates for a main-story-only run, a story-plus-side-quests run, or completionist play.
Bandai Namco’s official Complete Edition page describes the included game and expansions and gives the broad playtime estimates.

How long are the Witcher 3 expansions?
Both expansions together
The official Complete Edition description assigns “extra 50 hours of gameplay” to the two story expansions combined. It does not divide that total between Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
Blood and Wine
CD PROJEKT RED’s 2016 release announcement describes Blood and Wine as offering “over thirty hours of brand new adventures” and says it contains more than 90 new quests. This is the studio’s published description, not a stated average for a specific play style. Read the announcement.

An earlier CD PROJEKT RED announcement called Blood and Wine a “20-hour tale.” The two descriptions use different wording, and the sources do not explain a shared counting method that would reconcile them as one standardized estimate. They should not be added together or treated as measured averages. The earlier announcement also identifies Hearts of Stone as the first expansion and says the Expansion Pass contains Blood and Wine.
Hearts of Stone
The cited official pages do not provide a standalone playtime estimate for Hearts of Stone. The Complete Edition’s 50-hour figure is for both expansions together, so it cannot establish how long this expansion takes on its own.

What does the Complete Edition include?
Bandai Namco describes the Complete Edition as containing the base game and both major story expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Check the entitlements for your specific platform and edition rather than assuming every copy includes the same content. CD PROJEKT RED’s support FAQ says that, for the distribution arrangement it covers, the expansions are included in the base game and can still be started separately from the main menu. How to use the playtime estimates
- Planning for the whole package: use over 150 hours as a broad estimate for the base game plus both expansions.
- Estimating Blood and Wine: the studio’s 2016 description says over thirty hours, while an earlier announcement used 20 hours; neither source defines a common play-style category.
- Planning a main-story or completionist run: the cited official descriptions do not give comparable totals for those categories. Do not treat the combined figure as a precise estimate for either one.
