Find your Oceanus module number first
Do not assume that every Oceanus watch pairs or sets the time the same way. The instructions below are verified for modules 5596 and 5671, and their pairing controls differ. Check the number on the watch and open its matching Casio operation guide for module 5596 or the guide for your exact module. The examples here do not establish that every Oceanus model supports Bluetooth.
Pair a Bluetooth-enabled Oceanus with your phone
For the documented 5596 and 5671 procedures, install CASIO WATCHES, turn on Bluetooth on the phone, and keep the phone within one meter of the watch while pairing. Use the button sequence for your module, not a sequence copied from another Oceanus model.
Module 5596
- Install the CASIO WATCHES app and enable Bluetooth on your phone.
- Keep the phone within one meter of the watch. Open the app and select the applicable product from the My Watch tab.
- Hold button A on the watch for at least 2.5 seconds, until the second hand reaches C.
- Complete the pairing steps shown on the phone. If pairing fails, repeat the procedure.
On the app’s first startup, you may be prompted to allow location-information acquisition. Casio also advises configuring the app for background use. See Casio’s module 5596 pairing steps.

Module 5671
- Install CASIO WATCHES, enable Bluetooth, and keep the phone within one meter of the watch.
- Hold button B for at least 2.5 seconds, until the second hand moves to C.
- Follow the instructions displayed in the app to complete pairing.
The watch-side control is button B—not button A as in the 5596 procedure. See Casio’s module 5671 pairing steps.
Adjust the time through the phone
Casio says that while a Bluetooth connection exists between the watch and phone, the watch time setting is adjusted automatically. For this function to work, CASIO WATCHES must be running on the phone. A successful pairing does not mean the watch is continuously connected: the documented 5596 and 5671 guides describe automatic adjustments four times daily, at approximately 12:30 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., after which the connection ends. These timings are module-specific examples, not a schedule for every Oceanus watch.

To request an immediate adjustment, keep the phone within one meter and use the button for the module:
- Module 5596: Hold button A for at least half a second, until the second hand reaches C. After connection, the second hand normally moves to Y (YES) as the time is adjusted. Follow Casio’s module 5596 automatic time-adjustment instructions.
- Module 5671: Hold button B briefly, until the second hand reaches C. Consult Casio’s module 5671 automatic time-adjustment instructions.
If pairing or automatic time adjustment does not work
First distinguish a failed connection from a watch that connects but still appears to show the wrong time. Casio lists these reasons automatic adjustment may not happen:

- The phone is too far from the watch.
- Radio interference is preventing communication.
- The phone is updating its system.
- CASIO WATCHES is not running.
Bring the phone close, check that the app is running, and retry the module-specific connection procedure. If the watch connects but the time or date still looks wrong, the hand or day-indicator positions may need alignment; consult the operation guide for the exact module rather than repeating pairing as a time-setting fix.

The following crown-and-button sequence is verified for module 5596 only. Do not use it on another module without checking that watch’s operation guide.

- Pull the crown out to the second click to enable hour and minute setting.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute. During this initial setting, the second hand indicates a.m. or p.m.: 57 seconds indicates a.m.; 3 seconds indicates p.m.
- Press button A to advance through the year’s tens digit, year’s ones digit, month, and day. Rotate the crown to set each value.
- Push the crown in on a time signal at the top of a minute.
Casio provides the complete module 5596 manual time-setting procedure. If the displayed time remains wrong after adjustment, check the hand and day-indicator alignment instructions for that module.
