To install a One UI Watch beta, first confirm that Samsung is offering it for your Watch model and market, then enroll through Samsung’s beta program and install the update from the Watch’s software-update menu or Galaxy Wearable. Back up your Watch before joining. To leave the beta, withdraw through Samsung Members and take the Watch to a Samsung service center to restore the previous official software; Smart Switch rollback is for phones and tablets, not Galaxy Watches.
Before installing: check eligibility and back up your Watch
Samsung beta participation is limited by the current program’s timing, region, and supported models. The available program instructions do not establish a complete current eligibility list, so check Samsung’s beta notice for your market before enrolling. Do not assume your Watch qualifies just because it can receive regular software updates.
Samsung also says stable-update availability can vary by market, model, carrier, and paired smartphone. Its standard update guidance is at Samsung’s One UI 6 Watch update overview.
Back up Watch data through Galaxy Wearable before installing beta software. Samsung recommends backing up before a reset, and says backed-up Watch data can be restored through Galaxy Wearable after rollback. Treat the backup as a precaution, not a guarantee that every beta-created item or app state will be preserved. See Samsung’s guidance for Watch apps that freeze, crash, or stop responding.

How to install the One UI beta on a Galaxy Watch
- Find the beta notice for your market. Follow Samsung’s current One UI Watch beta announcement and confirm that it lists your model and region as eligible. Enrollment availability can change over time.
- Enroll through Samsung’s beta program. Follow the registration steps in the notice. Samsung’s beta FAQ describes using the beta program in Samsung Members for program participation.
- Check for the beta update. Use the Watch’s software-update flow, or in Galaxy Wearable go to Watch settings > Watch software update. Samsung documents both routes for beta updates; labels may differ by model and software version. See its beta update instructions.
- Review the update and install it. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the offered beta. Samsung describes beta software as intended for testing and warns that it may contain bugs, errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected behavior. Its One UI Watch Beta Program FAQ says the software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty.
How to get out of the Galaxy Watch beta
Samsung’s stated Watch rollback process requires both withdrawing from the beta and service-center assistance to reinstall the previous official software. The FAQ does not provide a specific stable-release date, so waiting for the official release does not come with a predictable timetable.
- Back up your Watch data. Use Galaxy Wearable before proceeding, particularly if you may need a reset.
- Withdraw from the beta. In Samsung Members, open the beta program and submit the withdrawal request using the available program controls. The precise labels can vary.
- Contact or visit a Samsung service center. Samsung says the Watch must be taken to a service center to reinstall the latest official software from the previous OS version. Ask Samsung support about local service arrangements; the cited program guidance does not establish fees, appointment requirements, or turnaround times.
- Restore backed-up data if needed. After rollback, use Galaxy Wearable to restore the available Watch backup.
Samsung’s FAQ states: “To remove the Beta software, visit the nearest Service Center to reinstall the latest official software of the previous OS version.” It also says that release timing depends on analyzing beta feedback and making improvements, and that it cannot provide a specific date. See the FAQ.

Can you downgrade a Galaxy Watch with Smart Switch?
No. Samsung’s May 23, 2025 beta guidance says Smart Switch rollback applies to phones and tablets; Galaxy Watch rollback must be handled at a service center. Do not use a phone-specific Smart Switch downgrade procedure as a Watch recovery method. Samsung’s clarification is in “Rollback the Beta OS version”.
Should you stay on the beta or return to stable software?
| Choice | What it involves | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Stay on beta and wait | Continue using the test software and wait for Samsung’s official release. Samsung provides no specific stable-release date in its FAQ. | You can tolerate possible bugs or incomplete behavior and do not need to leave the beta immediately. |
| Withdraw and request rollback | Back up, withdraw through Samsung Members, and arrange service-center restoration of the previous official Watch software. | You need stable software sooner or beta behavior is disrupting how you use the Watch, and you can manage the service-center process. |
If an update fails and the Watch cannot be used
Samsung’s beta FAQ directs users to a service center or Samsung support if an installation error leaves the Watch unusable. Avoid assuming that a phone rollback method or an unverified recovery procedure applies to the Watch; use Samsung’s support route for the affected model.
