What is the 8BitDo Retro 68 AP50th Edition?
8BitDo describes the keyboard as a celebration of Apple’s 50th anniversary, with design inspiration from the Apple II. Its beige and brown palette recalls the look of 1970s computers, while the anniversary branding makes it a commemorative edition rather than just another colorway. IT之家 reported on April 2, 2026, that it was released around Apple’s 50th anniversary; the official product page confirms the anniversary positioning but does not specify a launch date in the inspected material.
The retro styling is paired with a premium specification and a listed weight of 2,200 g. The keyboard measures 323.3 × 138.5 × 46.5 mm, according to 8BitDo.
What hardware and features does it offer?
8BitDo lists an aluminum shell, keycaps, buttons and plate, along with a gasket-mounted structure. The PCB is hot-swappable, so compatible switches can be replaced without soldering. The factory-installed switches are Kailh BOX Ice Cream Pro Max.
