Provider-authored comparisons publish some useful offer details, but they are not neutral rankings, and the available information does not establish comparable checkout totals, support quality, or refund terms for every company. Use the comparison below to build a shortlist, then check each provider’s live Wyoming checkout price and renewal terms against the state’s direct-filing costs.
What Wyoming formation actually costs
Wyoming charges $100 to file LLC articles of organization online. The state also adds an online card-processing fee of 2.4% of the filing fee, with a $1 minimum. If you pay the $100 filing fee by card, the processing charge is $2.40, making the state charges $102.40 before any provider fee. The Secretary of State’s online registration instructions, accessed in 2026, are the source for these figures; confirm the current fee schedule before filing.
Keep that state charge separate from a formation company’s service fee. A provider advertising formation for $0 may still require the state fee, and a low initial price does not show what registered-agent service will cost when a promotional period ends.
Seven providers to compare
The list below is a candidate comparison, not an independently tested or ranked “best” list. Most published offer details come from provider-authored comparison pages. The prices are advertised figures, not verified live checkout totals; package contents and prices can change. The September 2026 ZenBusiness comparison supplies dated offers for four companies, while the Wolters Kluwer/BizFilings comparison supplies a separate BizFilings offer. Neither source establishes all-in, like-for-like terms for all seven providers.
#1 Best Overall
| Provider | Published formation and registered-agent offer | What remains to verify |
|---|---|---|
| ZenBusiness | The company’s September 2026 comparison advertised formation at $0 plus state fees and registered-agent service at $199 per year. | Confirm the live checkout price, whether the agent fee recurs at that rate, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| Bizee | The company’s September 2026 comparison advertised formation at $0 plus state fees and registered-agent service free for year one, then $149 per year. | Confirm eligibility and conditions for the first-year offer, the renewal rate, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| LegalZoom | The company’s September 2026 comparison advertised formation at $0 plus state fees and registered-agent service at $249 per year. | Confirm the live checkout price, agent-service renewal terms, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| Northwest Registered Agent | The company’s September 2026 comparison advertised formation at $39 plus state fees, with registered-agent service free for year one and $125 per year afterward. Northwest’s own Wyoming cost page also lists registered-agent service at $125 per year. | Confirm the live checkout price, the terms of the first-year offer, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| BizFilings | A Wolters Kluwer/BizFilings comparison lists formation at $99 plus state fees and three months of registered-agent service free, then $220 per year. | The comparison does not establish a publication date here. Verify the current offer, the point at which the recurring charge begins, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| Inc Authority | The Wolters Kluwer/BizFilings comparison includes Inc Authority, but the available comparison details do not state a Wyoming formation price or registered-agent renewal price. | Check the Wyoming-specific live checkout for the service fee, state-fee treatment, agent renewal cost, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
| Doola | A 2026 Wyoming-specific provider guide includes Doola, but the available details do not state its Wyoming formation price or registered-agent renewal price. | Check the Wyoming-specific live checkout for the service fee, state-fee treatment, agent renewal cost, package inclusions, annual-report assistance charges, support access, and refund terms. |
Harbor Compliance also appears in the 2026 Wyoming-specific guide. It is another candidate if you want to widen the shortlist, but the available offer details do not establish its formation or registered-agent price.
How to compare the real first-year and renewal costs
For each provider, write down the charges separately rather than relying on a “starting at” price. This makes promotional offers and recurring obligations easier to see:

- First-year total: provider formation fee, state filing fee, applicable card-processing fee, and any registered-agent charge for the first year.
- Renewal total: the registered-agent renewal price and any other recurring provider charges. Do not assume a first-year promotion continues.
- Optional services: identify add-ons separately and check whether they are preselected or required to complete checkout.
- Annual-report help: distinguish a provider’s preparation or filing charge from Wyoming’s annual report license tax.
- Terms: check what documents are included, how to reach support, and what refund or guarantee conditions apply.
The available comparison material does not establish complete, consistent details for every provider on documents, add-ons, customer-support access, or refund terms. Treat those as questions to answer in each company’s own checkout and terms before choosing; do not infer that one provider includes more simply because its headline price is higher or lower.
What Wyoming requires after formation
Maintain a registered agent
Wyoming requires an LLC to have a registered agent. The Wyoming Secretary of State’s guide states: “All business entities filed in Wyoming need a registered agent to accept service of process.” A formation company’s registered-agent service is a separate service from creating the LLC; check its recurring price and renewal terms.

File the annual report and pay the license tax
Wyoming LLCs owe an annual report license tax of $60 or $0.0002 of the value of assets located and employed in Wyoming, whichever is greater. The report is due on the first day of the month in which the LLC’s formation anniversary falls. This is a state obligation, not the price of a provider’s annual-report preparation or filing service. The $60 minimum appears in the state fee schedule revised in 2021 and the official FAQ accessed in 2026; verify that the fee schedule remains current.

Direct filing
Filing directly with the state avoids a formation provider’s service fee. You will still need to satisfy Wyoming’s registered-agent requirement and handle any required follow-up yourself or arrange separate help. Budget for the state filing charge and card fee if applicable, as well as the annual report license tax when due.

Using a provider
A provider may be useful if you want help assembling and submitting formation paperwork or prefer to arrange registered-agent service through one company. Compare the actual included work with the fee and renewal cost rather than treating the provider’s formation price as the total cost of operating the LLC.
Wyoming formation does not, by itself, eliminate obligations that may apply where the owner lives or conducts business. The Wyoming Secretary of State says it cannot provide legal, tax, or financial advice. A registered-agent service is not a substitute for advice about whether forming in Wyoming fits your circumstances or what other-state requirements may apply.
