To learn agentic AI for free, choose a resource that matches your starting point: Microsoft Learn for a staged introduction, Google Skills for guided Google Cloud and ADK practice, or one of the options below for JavaScript development, Copilot Studio, or architecture comparisons. The learning materials are free as described by their publishers, but that does not automatically make model calls, hosted environments, or cloud deployment free.

1. Agentic AI on Google Cloud: guided ADK and multi-agent practice
Google Skills’ Agentic AI on Google Cloud path is the most structured choice here for learners who want to work through Google’s ecosystem. Its 9 activities address agent principles, development, deployment, and secure multi-agent architectures using Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK). Google Skills reported that the path had been updated about a month before the October 7, 2026 research check.
Google Cloud also describes its 2026 agent courses and labs as no-cost. The stated subjects include agent fundamentals, multi-agent workflows, MCP, memory, and operations. This is a strong fit if your goal is to understand how agents are developed and operated in Google Cloud rather than to compare every framework on equal terms.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
“No-cost” applies to the courses and labs Google describes; it should not be read as a promise that every cloud resource, model call, or deployment you try afterward is free. Review the current account, quota, and billing terms before running cloud-backed examples.
2. The Agent Development Journey: a staged introduction
Microsoft Learn’s Agent Development Journey moves from LLM fundamentals toward the agent abstraction and tool use. It specifically introduces adding function tools and MCP servers, making it a sensible starting point if you want a conceptual progression before choosing a deeper coding or platform course.

Use this path to build a mental model of how an agent extends an LLM with tools and how MCP servers fit into that picture. The path’s focus is a sequence of learning topics; it is not the same kind of runnable, JavaScript-heavy course as Microsoft’s LangChain.js offering.
3. LangChain.js for Beginners: runnable examples for JavaScript developers
Microsoft for Developers’ LangChain.js for Beginners was announced April 23, 2026, as a free, open-source course. It has 8 chapters and more than 70 runnable TypeScript examples. Learners can work locally or use GitHub Codespaces.

- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The course description lists GitHub Models, Microsoft Foundry, and OpenAI as possible provider options. Its capstone is an MCP-powered retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) server that lets multiple agents share a knowledge base. That makes it the most concrete coding option in this list for a JavaScript developer who wants to move from examples to a multi-agent pattern.
This is not a zero-background programming course: it expects familiarity with Node.js, npm, TypeScript, and async/await. The course being free and open source also does not establish that a selected model provider, API usage, or hosted environment will be free. Check the provider’s current billing, account, and quota terms before executing examples.

4. Copilot Studio Agent Academy: training for Microsoft’s agent platform
Microsoft’s Copilot Studio Agent Academy is a free, open-source training program for Copilot Studio. Its curriculum ranges from introductory use to agents with MCP integrations, multi-agent orchestration, and automation.
Choose it if you specifically want to learn Microsoft’s Copilot Studio product and its workflow. It is not a platform-neutral survey of agent frameworks. The Academy itself points learners seeking broader fundamentals to AI Agents for Beginners; that distinction helps keep product training separate from general agent concepts.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.

5. AWS Prescriptive Guidance: compare frameworks and architecture choices
AWS Prescriptive Guidance’s guide to agentic AI frameworks, platforms, protocols, and tools is aimed at readers who are ready to evaluate implementation approaches. It covers frameworks, managed and open-source platforms, protocols, tool integration, and considerations for selecting a framework.
The guide’s document history records an initial publication date of July 14, 2025, and a platforms-section update on January 16, 2026. Treat it as a technical reference for architecture decisions, not as a first coding lesson or a promise that AWS services or model calls used to implement an option are free.
Which resource should you start with?
- New to agent development: Begin with Microsoft’s staged Agent Development Journey to move from LLM concepts to tools and MCP.
- Want guided cloud practice: Choose Google Skills if Google Cloud and ADK are relevant to your work, especially if you want to explore multi-agent development and operations.
- Already know JavaScript: Take LangChain.js for Beginners for its runnable TypeScript examples and MCP/RAG capstone.
- Building in Microsoft’s low-code ecosystem: Use Copilot Studio Agent Academy for product-specific training and automation workflows.
- Evaluating an architecture: Consult the AWS guide when you need to compare frameworks, platforms, protocols, and tool integration rather than follow a beginner sequence.
These are recommendations based on each resource’s stated scope, not evidence that one platform is objectively better. Before running any cloud-backed activity, verify the current billing and usage terms for the account, provider, and services you select; free educational content alone does not settle those costs.
