Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →A February 29, 2024 report described three Chrome search-suggestion changes: related queries in the desktop New Tab Page search box, more image suggestions for broad searches on mobile, and improved suggestions on mobile with weak connectivity or in Incognito. The report did not establish whether these features remain available or behave the same way in September 2026.
What Chrome’s three reported suggestion changes did
The changes addressed different kinds of uncertainty: what else to search for, what a broad idea might look like, and how to get suggestions when a mobile connection is poor or Incognito is in use. The descriptions below reflect a secondary report published by Chrome Unboxed on February 29, 2024, not a current availability check.
Related searches on the desktop New Tab Page
For signed-in Chrome users, the report said that typing in the Google Search box on a new tab could surface queries related to earlier searches. For example, after searching for “Pulled Pork,” a user might see other popular barbecue preparations such as brisket or smoked turkey. These suggestions were presented as a way to explore a topic; the report did not promise identical results for every user.
More image suggestions for broad searches on mobile
On Chrome for Android and iOS, image suggestions in the address bar were reportedly expanding beyond specific product searches to broader terms. A search such as “bohemian table” could show visual options to help someone explore a style before settling on a particular item. This is distinct from related-query suggestions: the images help with visual browsing, rather than simply offering another phrase to search.

Mobile suggestions with weak connectivity or in Incognito
The report also described improved suggestions on Chrome for Android and iOS when connectivity was weak, using on-device capabilities. It said more helpful suggestions would also appear in Incognito mode. It did not explain the technical limits of on-device processing or what information those suggestions use, so the mention of Incognito should not be taken as a specific privacy guarantee.
