The three U.S.-listed funds to compare are Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM), WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM), and Corgi Quantum Computing ETF (CQTM). They take different approaches: QTUM follows an index spanning quantum computing and machine learning, WQTM follows a quantum-computing-focused index, and CQTM is actively managed and also includes quantum-related security solutions. “Top” depends on the exposure and jurisdiction you want; these funds are not interchangeable, and none is a guaranteed way to invest in commercial quantum computing.
How the three funds differ
This comparison focuses on stated investment approach, disclosed fund expenses, and the kind of exposure each mandate seeks—not on recent performance or a claim that one fund is universally best. The figures below come from 2026 U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings and may change. Brokerage charges, trading spreads, and portfolio transaction costs can also affect what an investor pays.
| Fund | Approach in filed materials | Disclosed annual expense | What distinguishes it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM) | Passively tracks the BlueStar Quantum Computing and Machine Learning Index, using modified equal weighting and eligibility criteria tied to activity in those areas. | 0.40% total annual operating expenses, according to its 2026 SEC summary prospectus. | The index name and criteria encompass a broader technology ecosystem, including semiconductor and other technology exposure. |
| WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM) | Passively tracks the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Index. | 0.45% total annual operating expenses, according to its 2026 SEC summary prospectus. | Its stated index mandate is specifically focused on quantum computing; consult the index methodology and current holdings to understand how that focus is implemented. |
| Corgi Quantum Computing ETF (CQTM) | Actively managed. Its policy says it will ordinarily invest at least 80% of net assets in companies materially involved in quantum computing, quantum-enabled technologies, and security solutions designed for future quantum capabilities. | 0.35% management fee; the 2026 prospectus reports no 12b-1 fee and 0.00% other expenses. | Active selection and an explicit quantum-security component. The management fee is not a complete measure of trading or ownership costs. |
Read each fee label precisely: QTUM and WQTM disclose total annual operating expenses, while the cited CQTM figure is a management fee. Check the latest prospectus for current terms. [QTUM SEC filing], [WQTM SEC filing], [CQTM SEC filing]
What “quantum computing exposure” means in practice
QTUM includes adjacent technology exposure
QTUM’s benchmark is not limited to companies whose primary business is quantum computing. Its index combines quantum computing and machine learning, and its definition includes activity in areas such as advanced hardware, semiconductor packaging, and raw materials. As of March 31, 2026, the index had 82 constituents, including 20 listed outside the United States, and was concentrated in semiconductors. Those are index facts at that date, not a promise about QTUM’s current portfolio weights.

QTUM’s filing also reported a 42% portfolio turnover rate for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025. Turnover is a historical portfolio statistic, not a forecast of future trading or costs. [QTUM SEC filing]
WQTM follows a quantum-computing index
WQTM uses the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Index rather than an active manager selecting holdings. The fund name alone does not tell you which businesses qualify or how much of their revenue is tied to quantum computing. Review the index construction in the fund’s current documents, then compare it with the portfolio actually held by the ETF. [WQTM SEC filing]

CQTM adds active selection and quantum security
CQTM’s stated policy reaches beyond companies directly involved in quantum computing to include quantum-enabled technologies and security solutions designed for future quantum capabilities. Because it is actively managed, holdings and exposure reflect the manager’s decisions rather than a fixed index rule. Its broader policy language should not be mistaken for proof that every holding has substantial quantum-related revenue. [CQTM SEC filing]
How to choose among QTUM, WQTM and CQTM
- For broad ecosystem exposure: Examine QTUM if you want an index that expressly combines quantum computing with machine learning and related semiconductor or technology activity. Decide whether that breadth matches your intent.
- For a quantum-computing-index mandate: Examine WQTM’s index methodology and holdings to see how the index defines eligible companies and what exposures result.
- For active selection and quantum-security exposure: Examine CQTM’s current holdings and manager disclosures, including how the fund applies its stated investment policy.
- For cost comparison: Compare like with like. The quoted disclosures are not the same fee measure, and none captures every possible brokerage, spread, or transaction cost.
- For portfolio fit: Check current holdings, company and sector concentration, country exposure, and the proportion of each holding’s business that is actually related to the theme.
Do not rank these funds by recent performance unless you are comparing the same dates and total-return basis and make clear that past performance does not predict future results. A thematic label is not a substitute for examining the underlying portfolio.

Risks to understand before investing
Commercial adoption is uncertain
QTUM’s prospectus says few public companies currently have significant revenue or profit streams that can be attributed to these emerging technologies, and that advances may not materially affect portfolio-company returns. VanEck likewise describes quantum-computing commercialization as uncertain and potentially many years away. A company may be included because of its technology activity without quantum computing yet being a meaningful source of earnings. [QTUM SEC filing], [VanEck QNTM fund page]
Holdings can carry risks beyond the theme
Investors may be exposed to technology and semiconductor sector concentration, foreign securities and currency movements, emerging markets, equity-market declines, and the risks of ETF trading. Businesses held by a thematic fund can also be affected by their non-quantum operations. BlackRock highlights technology, intellectual-property, competition, regulatory, and concentration risks for QANT. [QTUM SEC filing], [BlackRock QANT fund page]

ETF market price can differ from fund value
An ETF trades on an exchange, and its market price can be above or below its net asset value. QTUM’s filing notes that closures in foreign markets can contribute to such differences. Before trading, consider the bid-ask spread and liquidity as well as the prospectus expense figure. [QTUM SEC filing]
Bottom line on the three U.S.-listed funds
QTUM, WQTM, and CQTM represent three distinct ways to approach the theme: a broader quantum-and-machine-learning index, a quantum-computing index, and an actively managed mandate that also names quantum security. The right comparison depends on which exposure you want, the holdings and concentration you accept, the fee measure you are comparing, and whether the fund is available and appropriate in your jurisdiction. Review current prospectuses and holdings rather than treating an ETF name as a guarantee of pure-play exposure or future returns.
