For IT leaders, the right change management training depends on whether you need to guide people through an organizational transformation or govern changes to IT services. The options below cover both needs, but they are not ten separately verified live course listings: several are study routes or levels within the same qualification. Check current schedules, local pricing, prerequisites and exam arrangements with the provider before enrolling.
Choose the kind of change you need to manage
Organizational change management focuses on helping people adopt a change, such as a new platform, operating model or process. IT service change enablement focuses on assessing, authorizing and managing changes to live services. The subjects overlap in technology transformations, but a course in one is not a substitute for training in the other.
- Building adoption across a project or organization: consider Prosci or organizational change management qualifications from APMG, or training aligned with ACMP’s Standard.
- Controlling changes to IT services: consider ITIL 4 Practitioner: Change Enablement.
- Choosing a credential: check whether the course includes an exam or leads toward a separate application and assessment. Course attendance alone does not necessarily award the credential.
Organizational change management options
1. Prosci Enterprise Change Management Boot Camp
This is the most directly targeted option for IT leaders who need to build change capability across a division or organization. Prosci describes the boot camp as a one-day intensive and explicitly includes IT leaders responsible for sustainable technology-led change in its audience. It is aimed at enterprise capability rather than only applying a method to one project. See Prosci’s Enterprise Change Management Boot Camp.
2. Prosci Change Management Certification
This three-day course is for people responsible for making change happen, including IT professionals. Participants apply the Prosci Methodology and ADKAR Model to a current project and develop the foundation of a change management plan, making it a practical choice when a leader or project team has an active transformation to support. Prosci’s page lists online tuition at $4,500 and in-person tuition at $4,850; these are page-listed prices, not a region-independent quote, so confirm the current price and enrollment details directly. Check Prosci’s Change Management Certification Program.

3. ACMP CCMP pathway through a Qualified Education Provider
The Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) is a credential path for experienced practitioners, not a course offered by ACMP. ACMP says candidates need 21 hours of change management training aligned with the Standard within the previous seven years, and they must complete the credential application and exam process. ACMP states: “CCMP® is not a training program itself, nor does it or ACMP offer training.” Use its Qualified Education Provider (QEP) program to identify prequalified training; then confirm that the provider’s course meets your needs and the current application requirements. Read ACMP’s training FAQ and review its credentials information.
4. APMG Change Management Foundation
Foundation is the entry-level APMG qualification for people contributing to organizational change projects. APMG gives a typical course duration of three days and lists classroom, virtual, e-learning and self-study routes. The course format, exam arrangements and availability depend on the chosen route and training organization. See APMG’s Change Management certification information.

5. APMG Change Management Practitioner
Practitioner is the further APMG qualification for people managing organizational change. APMG gives a typical course duration of two days, but delivery and exam arrangements depend on the accredited organization or self-study route. Review the stated requirements and course details before choosing it, particularly if you are new to the subject.
6. APMG Foundation self-study
APMG describes a self-study route for Foundation candidates, who can purchase an exam and access the study guide. This is a way to prepare for the Foundation qualification, not a separately verified scheduled class. Check APMG’s current exam and study-guide details before committing.

7. APMG Practitioner self-study
APMG also describes self-study for Practitioner candidates, using the study guide and exam route. It is a study option within the Practitioner qualification rather than a distinct course provider or live class. Confirm the current requirements and whether self-study is suitable for your experience before booking an exam.
IT service change enablement options
8. ITIL 4 Practitioner: Change Enablement
This is the focused option for IT service changes. The practice covers governance, change models, risk and authorization decisions, roles, and workflow improvement. PeopleCert lists recognized prerequisite certification routes and requires candidates to take training through an Accredited Training Organization or official eLearning. It also lists renewal every three years. Check the current prerequisite, training and renewal rules on the certification page. Review PeopleCert’s ITIL 4 Practitioner: Change Enablement details.

9. ITIL Change Enablement instructor-led training
An instructor-led course from a training provider is one route to prepare for the same ITIL certification, rather than a separate certification. One checked provider page describes a one-day training and exam package. That duration and package are provider-specific; confirm local dates, price, exam inclusion and current course details with the provider. See the provider’s ITIL Change Enablement training page.
10. ITIL Change Enablement official eLearning
PeopleCert lists official eLearning as a route that meets the training requirement for this certification. Package contents and exam arrangements can change, so verify them on PeopleCert’s current page before purchasing. This is a delivery route to the same qualification, not a separate ITIL course credential.

Quick Recap
How to decide as an IT leader
- Define the work. If your challenge is stakeholder readiness and adoption of a technology-led transformation, look first at Prosci or organizational change management training. If it is risk, authorization and control of IT service changes, look at ITIL Change Enablement.
- Match the level to your role. Prosci’s certification is designed for people applying change methods to projects, while its boot camp explicitly targets IT leaders building broader capability. APMG separates Foundation and Practitioner. CCMP is intended for practitioners pursuing a professional credential and has qualifying training and application requirements.
- Separate training from the credential. Confirm whether an exam is included, whether the course qualifies toward a separate credential, and what prerequisites apply. This is especially important for CCMP and ITIL.
- Check the actual enrollment terms. Ask the provider about dates, geography, currency, fees, exam inclusion, format and any prerequisites. Prices and schedules can vary by provider and location.
