Zojirushi’s revenue and two operating profit measures increased in the nine months ended August 20, 2026, but profit attributable to owners of the parent fell 2.9% year over year. The company reported the results on October 2, 2026. The figures show a mixed earnings picture—not a decline across every profit measure.
How Zojirushi’s nine-month results changed
The year-over-year comparison in the company’s consolidated results release separates growth in sales and operating measures from the decline in parent-attributable profit.

Operating profit and ordinary profit both rose, so it would be inaccurate to say all earnings measures lost ground. The decline was in profit attributable to owners of the parent, the measure that captures profit assigned to the company’s parent shareholders after other items in the reported results.

The release also reported gross profit of ¥24,064 million, compared with ¥22,418 million in the prior-year nine-month period. Selling, general and administrative expenses rose to ¥18,207 million from ¥16,858 million, while operating profit increased to ¥5,856 million from ¥5,560 million. Those comparisons describe what changed in the accounts; they do not establish a specific cause for the parent-attributable profit decline.
What the full-year forecast says
In the same October 2 release, Zojirushi maintained its latest FY2026 forecast. It is company guidance for the full fiscal year, not a result already achieved.

The company said it had not revised its latest forecast. The nine-month figures cover only the period through August 20, so they should not be treated as a full-year outcome.
Recent context and financial position
Zojirushi’s June 29, 2026 second-quarter release reported six-month net sales of ¥51,210 million, up 2.2%, and operating profit of ¥5,212 million, up 7.0%. Its January 9, 2026 FY2025 annual results showed sales of ¥91,151 million, up 4.5%, and operating profit of ¥7,436 million, up 24.9%, alongside parent-attributable profit of ¥5,980 million, down 7.5%. These are earlier reporting periods and should not be confused with the latest nine-month comparison.

At August 20, 2026, total assets were ¥116,572 million, net assets were ¥92,014 million, and the equity ratio was 78.1%. These balance-sheet figures provide financial-position context; they do not by themselves indicate whether the stock is attractively valued or whether an investor should buy or sell it.

The filing supports a precise description: revenue, operating profit and ordinary profit increased year over year, while parent-attributable profit declined. It does not identify a verified FY2026 cause for that difference. The figures alone do not support attributing the pattern to a particular product, market, tariff, currency movement or expense.

A prior FY2025 company presentation attributed that year’s nine-month parent-attributable profit decrease to comparison with a gain on the sale of non-current assets in the previous fiscal year. That historical explanation is not evidence of the cause of the FY2026 result.
The English release is a translation; its notice says the Japanese original prevails if there is a discrepancy. Zojirushi’s official IR library lists financial results, supplementary explanations, integrated reports, securities reports, timely disclosures and shareholder communications.
