There is no single best ZenRows replacement. Choose an API or platform by testing it against your actual target sites, JavaScript requirements, geographic coverage, data fields, concurrency, and total cost. The most credible alternatives include ScrapingBee, Bright Data, Oxylabs, Zyte, ScraperAPI, and Apify; Decodo, ParseHub, Octoparse, ScrapingDog, Import.io, and Crawlbase are additional options with different product scopes.

How to choose a ZenRows alternative

Start with the workload rather than a vendor ranking. A product that performs well on a public product catalog may fail on a heavily protected job board or retailer. Compare candidates on these dimensions:

  • Target-site success: Run the same URLs, fields, request rate, and retry policy against every finalist.
  • JavaScript rendering: Confirm that client-rendered content, interactions, and lazy-loaded data are available in the returned result.
  • Proxy and geography controls: Check residential or datacenter options, country targeting, session persistence, and bandwidth charges.
  • Extraction: Decide whether you need raw HTML, parsed JSON, a schema, or AI-assisted structured data.
  • Operations: Compare concurrency, asynchronous jobs, bulk requests, retries, webhooks, exports, and monitoring.
  • Support and compliance: Review documentation, data handling, acceptable-use rules, retention, and support response expectations.
  • Total cost: Model JavaScript rendering, premium proxies, large responses, retries, difficult domains, and failed-request billing—not just the advertised entry price.

Bright Data specifically notes that performance varies by target and that credit multipliers or bandwidth-based pricing can change the effective cost. Treat every published price as a starting point and verify current terms before procurement.

Best ZenRows alternatives at a glance

Service Best fit What the reviewed sources describe Important qualification
ScrapingBee Developers wanting a straightforward API JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, and structured JSON output; also characterized as suitable for mid-sized teams. These are publisher characterizations. Test your own targets.

Descriptions originate with Bright Data; actual performance and cost depend on target and configuration.
Oxylabs Large-scale extraction with enterprise support JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, parsing features, and free-trial credits are described in its comparison. Vendor claims are not a guarantee for a particular site.
Zyte Managed API and structured extraction Proxy handling plus structured and AI-assisted extraction capabilities. Success depends on target difficulty; do not infer a universal ranking.
ScraperAPI API projects needing rendering and pipeline features JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, asynchronous and bulk options, and data-pipeline features. Calculate cost using your request mix and retry behavior.
Apify Reusable workflows and a hosted platform Hosted Actors, a marketplace, proxy handling, and workflow tooling. It is a platform rather than only a single scraping endpoint.

ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to try when your requirement is a clean visual capture rather than extracted records: it removes consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, bills only clean shots, and has the lowest paid plan described here.

API-first alternatives

ScrapingBee

ScrapingBee is positioned as a developer-facing API with JavaScript rendering, rotating proxies, and structured JSON output. It is a sensible first test when your application needs a simple request/response integration and you do not want to operate browser infrastructure. Validate selectors, rendered state, regional behavior, and concurrency on representative URLs before switching production traffic.

Bright Data

Bright Data presents its Web Scraping API as broad infrastructure for enterprise-scale work. Its comparison describes proxy rotation, browser rendering, CAPTCHA handling, session management, structured output, and prebuilt scrapers. Because it offers multiple pricing models, estimate a complete monthly bill using page size, proxy class, rendering, geography, retries, and data-transfer assumptions. Bright Data’s own article cites benchmarks from other publishers, but those tests use different targets and definitions.

Oxylabs

Oxylabs is aimed at large-scale extraction and enterprise support. The reviewed comparison lists JavaScript rendering, proxy rotation, parsing features, and free-trial credits. Treat those as product descriptions, then verify current availability, contractual terms, and limits for the countries and domains you need.

Zyte

Zyte appears as a managed scraping API with proxy handling and structured or AI-assisted extraction. It can be attractive when your team wants more than HTML and prefers a managed data layer. Performance is target-dependent, so test difficult pages—not only easy documentation examples.

ScraperAPI

ScraperAPI is described as an API alternative with JavaScript rendering, rotating proxies, asynchronous and bulk options, and data-pipeline features. Compare its effective cost with ZenRows using identical request volume, render settings, proxy geography, response size, and retry rules.

Hosted and no-code alternatives

Apify

Apify provides a hosted platform built around reusable Actors, a marketplace, proxy handling, and workflows. Choose it when you need scheduled jobs, reusable components, or a broader automation environment rather than one endpoint. Budget for Actor execution, storage, proxy use, and orchestration according to the workflow you deploy.

Decodo, ParseHub, Octoparse, ScrapingDog, Import.io, and Crawlbase

These names appear in ScraperAPI’s roundup, but they do not all represent the same category. ParseHub and Octoparse are presented as no-code tools; the others may be API or data-platform options. Confirm each product’s current scope, pricing, JavaScript support, export formats, and acceptable-use terms before treating it as a direct ZenRows substitute.

What benchmark numbers do—and do not—prove

Published benchmarks are useful only with their test conditions attached. ZenRows reports a 99.00% success rate, 9.1-second average response time, and $6.85 effective cost per 1,000 requests in its own live benchmark. The vendor says it ran 100 requests per target at two requests per second on Zim, Glassdoor, Idealista, and Indeed on June 19, 2026. Those figures describe that test, not every website or workload. See ZenRows’ benchmark methodology.

Bright Data’s comparison reports a 98.44% average success rate for Bright Data in a Scrape.do benchmark covering 11 providers and seven challenging domains; the excerpt does not state a publication year for that result. The same page attributes a 93.14% success rate for Zyte to Proxyway’s 2025 Web Scraping API Report covering 15 heavily protected sites. These studies use different targets, configurations, vendors, and success definitions, so do not merge the percentages into one league table. Review the source pages: Bright Data’s comparison and Oxylabs’ comparison.

For additional vendor lists and positioning, consult ZenRows’ 2026 API roundup and ScraperAPI’s alternatives roundup. Re-run a private pilot whenever your target mix, request rate, or proxy tier changes.

A practical migration and evaluation procedure

  1. Define acceptance criteria. Record required fields, maximum stale-data age, countries, JavaScript interactions, request volume, concurrency, latency target, and failure-handling rules.
  2. Create a representative URL set. Include easy pages, JavaScript-heavy pages, login or session flows where permitted, pagination, consent dialogs, regional variants, and known bot challenges.
  3. Normalize the test. Use the same URLs, request rate, timeout, retry count, proxy geography, render setting, and output schema for each service.
  4. Measure useful outcomes. Track usable-field success, not only HTTP status; record latency, retries, bytes returned, proxy or rendering surcharges, and whether a challenge page was mistaken for content.
  5. Calculate effective cost. Divide the complete bill—including retries, rendered pages, bandwidth, premium proxies, storage, and orchestration—by usable records or pages.
  6. Run a limited production pilot. Route a small percentage of traffic, compare data quality and operational effort, then document rollback criteria.
  7. Review compliance. Confirm that your collection purpose, target terms, privacy obligations, robots and access controls, and vendor contract permit the planned activity.

Or skip the browser setup

If your deliverable is a screenshot or PDF rather than extracted fields, ScreenshotNeo is the alternative to try first. It accepts consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

Use the same endpoint from any language. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for all options.

Troubleshooting common migration failures

HTTP 200 but unusable content

The response may be a consent wall, bot challenge, login page, or empty shell. Save the raw response, inspect the final URL and page markers, enable JavaScript rendering, and verify the proxy geography and session behavior.

Rendered fields are missing

Wait for a specific selector or network idle, increase the timeout within the provider’s limits, and confirm that the content is not loaded only after a click or scroll. Add an explicit interaction where supported.

Success rate falls under load

Reduce concurrency temporarily, honor provider rate limits, use exponential backoff, and separate transient proxy failures from deterministic parsing errors. Re-test at the production request rate.

Costs exceed the estimate

Inspect invoices for render multipliers, premium proxy traffic, response bytes, retries, and failed pages counted as billable. Recalculate cost per usable record and consider asynchronous or bulk features.

Regional results differ

Pin country, timezone, language headers, cookies, and session settings. Keep those parameters fixed during comparisons so that content differences are not mistaken for vendor performance.

Which option should you choose?

  • Choose ScrapingBee for a focused developer API and straightforward rendering/proxy workflow.
  • Choose Bright Data or Oxylabs when enterprise scale, proxy breadth, and managed support justify a detailed cost model.
  • Choose Zyte when managed structured or AI-assisted extraction is central.
  • Choose ScraperAPI when asynchronous, bulk, or pipeline features fit your integration.
  • Choose Apify when reusable Actors, scheduling, and a marketplace matter more than a single endpoint.
  • Choose ParseHub or Octoparse only after confirming that a no-code workflow meets your scale and export needs.
  • Choose ScreenshotNeo first when the output is a clean screenshot or PDF, not a table of scraped records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I compare ZenRows alternatives using only monthly price?

No. Rendering, proxy tier, bandwidth, retries, geography, and failed-page billing can change the effective cost substantially. Compare cost per usable page or record on your own URL set.

Are published success rates directly comparable?

No. The cited studies use different domains, request rates, configurations, vendors, dates, and definitions of success. Keep each figure attached to its original benchmark conditions.

Is Apify an API replacement for ZenRows?

It can replace parts of an API workflow, but it is primarily a hosted platform built around Actors, marketplace components, proxies, and workflows. The operational model is broader than a single scraping endpoint.

Does ScreenshotNeo extract structured website data?

ScreenshotNeo is for screenshots and PDFs, with page information and capture controls. Use an API-first scraping service when you need structured records rather than visual output.
