Short answer: YouTube does not publish a special approval rule for 24/7 music streams, and continuous streaming alone is not identified as an automatic reason for approval or rejection. YPP review is channel-wide: reviewers may look at your channel’s theme, popular and recent videos, content responsible for much of its watch time, metadata, and About section. Your strongest preparation is to make the channel’s original contribution and viewer value clear, use music and visuals with cleared rights, and keep qualifying livestream archives public and available as VOD.
What YouTube reviewers may examine
YouTube says reviewers check a channel and its content against monetization policies. Examples of areas they may focus on include:
- The channel’s main theme.
- Its most-viewed and newest videos.
- Videos accounting for the largest share of watch time.
- Video metadata, including titles, thumbnails, and descriptions.
- The channel’s About section.
The examples are not an exhaustive checklist. Because review is broader than one stream, a polished livestream by itself cannot guarantee a channel-level decision. Can an always-on music stream be monetized?
Potentially, if the channel meets YPP eligibility requirements and the content satisfies YouTube’s monetization policies. The fact that a stream runs continuously is not, in the public guidance cited here, an automatic disqualification or a guarantee of acceptance. Reviewers assess the channel and its content under general policies.

For an always-on channel, the practical question is what viewers receive and what the channel itself contributes. Explain your authorship, selection, arrangement, or other creative input accurately in the channel and video information. A stream that simply repeats largely identical or mass-produced material may raise concerns under the inauthentic-content policy; a consistent format can still have value when the actual content varies meaningfully and provides creative, educational, or other viewer value. Original work, repetitive material, and reused content
Make the channel’s contribution clear
YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy “inauthentic content” on July 15, 2025, to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced content is covered. YouTube said the material was already ineligible under its expectation that monetized creators make original and authentic work; the reused-content policy did not change. Content that appears template-made or feels repetitive across several uploads can be a concern. Similar formats are not automatically disallowed: the policy examples distinguish them from work whose substance materially varies and brings creative, educational, or other value. Describe who created the music and visuals and what you contributed. If the stream is curated, explain the curation truthfully; do not present someone else’s work as your own. Clear descriptions can help reviewers understand your role, but metadata cannot substitute for the required originality or rights.

YouTube describes reused content as republishing material already available elsewhere without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. Reviewers may examine videos and channel descriptions, titles, and descriptions to understand how the creator made, participated in, or produced the work. The rule is assessed at channel level; if reviewers cannot clearly tell that you made the content, monetization may be removed from the whole channel. Clear the rights to music and visuals
You are responsible for clearing audio and visual rights in your videos. YouTube’s Content ID guidance says third-party material, including unlicensed music, is not eligible for monetization, and claims must be resolved for a video to be eligible. Keep a record for each track and visual showing its source and the license or other rights basis you rely on. This is a practical way to substantiate clearance, not a separate official YouTube checklist. Keep a qualifying livestream archive public
For the public watch-hour route, YouTube excludes watch time from private, unlisted, or deleted videos, ad-campaign videos, and livestreams that are unlisted, deleted, or not converted to VOD. Enable the relevant monetization module

- Review the channel as a whole. Inspect the theme, popular and recent videos, and the uploads that account for the most watch time—not only the always-on stream.
- Make authorship and value understandable. Ensure titles, descriptions, and the About section accurately explain what you made, curated, or added. Do not imply you created material you only licensed or reused.
- Check for repetitive or mass-produced output. Look across the channel for template-like uploads with little meaningful variation or viewer value. Where you use a consistent format, make sure the content itself contributes something distinct.
- Verify audio and visual rights. Confirm the rights basis for every track and visual, retain supporting records, and address Content ID claims rather than assuming that permission or attribution settles monetization eligibility.
- Check livestream visibility and archives. For watch-hour eligibility, confirm relevant streams are public and retained as VODs, rather than unlisted, deleted, or not converted.
- Check YPP status and terms in YouTube Help. Confirm the current threshold, apply only when eligible, and accept the Watch Page Monetization Module if seeking Watch Page ads or YouTube Premium revenue on long-form or livestreaming videos.
