If YouTube shows “Daily live stream limit achieved” before your scheduled broadcast, your channel has hit YouTube’s limit on creating live streams in a 24-hour period. YouTube’s stated advice is to try again in 24 hours; it does not publish the exact quota or an exact reset time. Before changing your setup, check whether the message is instead caused by too many active streams or an account restriction.
First, identify which limit is blocking the stream
YouTube has separate limits and eligibility rules that can prevent a stream from starting. The exact error text is useful: YouTube’s live-streaming error guide explains that “Daily live stream limit achieved” means the channel has reached its limit for creating streams within a 24-hour period.

If the exact message is “Daily live stream limit achieved,” there is no encoder setting, stream key, computer or accessory that YouTube says will clear the channel-level limit. YouTube Help’s advice is to try again in 24 hours. That is a waiting interval, not a promise that the limit will reset at a particular local time or exactly 24 hours after a specific attempt: YouTube does not publish the counter’s precise reset rule or the channel’s numeric quota.

- Record the exact error. Confirm that it is the daily-limit message, rather than a connection, key or stream-health error.
- Do not keep creating replacement events to test it. The limit concerns stream creation; repeated attempts are not a documented way to resolve it.
- Wait and retry. Use YouTube’s stated guidance to try again in 24 hours, allowing for the fact that no precise reset timestamp is published.
- If the message persists, check channel notices and YouTube Help. A restriction or separate eligibility problem can require a different remedy from waiting.
Check for active streams and account restrictions
End obsolete active broadcasts
If you are below the daily creation limit but already have too many broadcasts running, ending an obsolete stream may free an active-stream slot. Check Live Control Room for streams that did not stop cleanly. Also review how active broadcasts are assigned to stream keys: the per-channel and per-key caps apply simultaneously, so being below one does not guarantee you are below the other.
Verify eligibility and read restriction notices
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Review YouTube Studio for notices and confirm the channel’s verification status. Restrictions can involve policy or copyright matters; use the resolution or appeal option YouTube provides rather than trying to work around the restriction.

YouTube prohibits evading an active live-streaming restriction by broadcasting through another channel. Do not switch channels to bypass a restriction; address the notice through YouTube’s stated process.
Prepare the scheduled encoder stream without mistaking preparation for a fix
When the account is eligible and the issue is not a quota, validate the scheduled stream path ahead of airtime. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend setting up an encoder event at least two hours before it starts, starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time, and checking the preview in Live Control Room. YouTube also advises stopping the encoder after the event has stopped on YouTube.

- At least two hours before: set up the encoder event and confirm that you are using the intended channel and event.
- At least 15 minutes before: start the encoder and check whether a preview appears in Live Control Room.
- After the broadcast: stop the encoder once the event has stopped on YouTube.

Common symptoms and the next action
- The exact daily-limit error appears before the event: wait and try again in 24 hours; YouTube does not publish an exact reset time or numeric quota.
- You have old broadcasts that may still be running: inspect Live Control Room and end obsolete active streams; check both channel-wide and stream-key concurrency.
- You see a verification or restriction notice: resolve the eligibility issue or follow the appeal route offered in YouTube Studio. Do not use another channel to evade a restriction.
- The event exists but no preview appears: use YouTube’s encoder guidance to check the selected event, encoder connection and preview well before airtime. This will not clear a daily quota.
- The broadcast stopped on YouTube but the encoder is still running: stop the encoder after the YouTube event has stopped.
