If YouTube or another part of your setup says a video is “too high resolution,” first identify which program showed the message. Check the source clips with ffprobe, then set and encode an output resolution that the receiving service accepts. Hindi audio or text does not require a special FFmpeg resolution setting. The exact error and FFmpeg command are needed to identify the cause precisely.
First identify what is reporting the resolution problem
The wording alone does not establish that YouTube generated the error. It may come from YouTube Live, a playlist player, or FFmpeg or another processing step. Record the complete error text and the name of the application or service displaying it. Also save the FFmpeg command you ran; option placement and the input type can matter.
Separate two questions: what resolution each source file has, and what resolution your encoder sends to the destination. A source clip can be high resolution while the outgoing stream is resized to an accepted profile—or the output can remain too large if the video is simply copied without resizing.

ffprobe -hide_banner -show_streams -show_format input.mp4Compare the video width and height, codecs, frame rate and time base, audio properties, and the number and order of streams. Do not inspect only the first clip: a playlist can contain files with different parameters.
If the message is about the destination’s accepted stream, use the output requirements for that destination. If it appears during concatenation or encoding, investigate the files and FFmpeg operation first. These are different problems and may require different fixes.
Check what kind of playlist you have
FFmpeg’s concat demuxer takes a text script listing files; an M3U or M3U8 playlist is a different format. Do not assume an M3U/M3U8 file can be passed to the concat demuxer unchanged.

A basic concat script can look like this:

file 'clip2.mp4'The optional ffconcat version 1.0 signature must be exactly at the top of the file. The paths must identify the intended local files. See the FFmpeg concat demuxer documentation for syntax and behavior.
Choose stream copy or normalization
Use stream copy only for compatible inputs
The concat demuxer expects the input files to have matching streams, including compatible codecs and time bases. If their stream layouts or parameters differ, stream-copy concatenation may fail or produce a broken result. The demuxer adjusts timestamps between clips, and incorrect duration information can cause artifacts.
When the clips meet the compatibility requirements, a stream-copy workflow may avoid a generation loss from re-encoding. If they do not, do not treat -c copy as a way to resize or standardize them: it copies encoded streams rather than scaling video.

Normalize mismatched clips
If dimensions, codecs, frame rates, time bases, audio, or stream layouts differ, use a deliberate decode/filter/encode workflow to bring the clips to a common profile before concatenating, or build a filter-and-encode pipeline that processes them together. Re-encoding takes processing time and can affect quality; choose output settings intentionally rather than assuming concat will reconcile every difference automatically.

Set the outgoing resolution for the destination
If YouTube Live is the destination, treat YouTube’s current encoder guidance as the output constraint. Choose an accepted resolution and encode the video to that size. Merely copying a high-resolution video stream does not resize it. Check the current official YouTube live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance for the supported settings that apply to your stream.
Set bitrate, frame rate, codec, and keyframe interval to match the destination’s current instructions and what your available upload capacity can sustain. There is no single maximum resolution that can be diagnosed from the title of the error alone; the message may come from a component other than YouTube, and requirements can depend on the receiving service and stream configuration.

Test before leaving the playlist unattended
- Capture the exact error. Note the application or service that displays it, along with the full text.
- Probe each file. Compare its dimensions and stream parameters with the other playlist files.
- Confirm the playlist format. Use the concat demuxer only with its documented text-script input; handle M3U/M3U8 separately.
- Resolve incompatibilities. Normalize mismatched sources or use a suitable filter-and-encode pipeline instead of relying on stream copy.
- Check destination settings. Set and encode an output profile accepted by the receiver, using its current encoder guidance.
- Run a short test stream. Check the destination’s stream health before relying on the playlist unattended.
For a repeating input, FFmpeg documents -stream_loop -1 as looping indefinitely. It is an input option, so its position in the command matters; consult the FFmpeg command-line documentation rather than placing it arbitrarily.
