First, check whether YouTube flagged the intro while the broadcast was live or placed a Content ID claim on the archived replay. These are different situations: a live match can trigger a warning or interrupt the stream, while YouTube says Content ID claims on an archived livestream are made after the stream ends, if you choose to archive it. The right fix depends on which notice you received.
Check whether the issue happened live or on the replay
Open the notice in YouTube Studio and read what action YouTube took and which content it identified. A live broadcast may be scanned for third-party material; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A Content ID claim on an archived livestream is a separate process that occurs after the stream is completed, if it was archived. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance explains the distinction.
A loop or repetition does not grant permission to use the underlying music. Identify the matched work, claimant, affected territory, and any restrictions shown in the notice before choosing a remedy. The available actions and the rights involved depend on the specific claim.
Fix a valid claim on an archived livestream
If the claim identifies audio you do not have rights to use, YouTube Studio may offer one or more editing options. The options available depend on the claim and the video.

- Open the claimed video in YouTube Studio. Go to the copyright details for the video and review the matched segment and claimant.
- Choose an available remedy. Studio may offer Trim out segment, Replace song, or Erase song. Replacement uses a track from the YouTube Audio Library. Erasing may mute only the song or all audio in the claimed section.
- Preview the edit before saving. Check that the entire claimed material is removed or replaced and that the remaining audio is acceptable.
- Save only when you are satisfied. YouTube says saved Studio Editor changes can no longer be reverted to the original under its guidance since June 2025. Keep a separate copy of the original video before editing.
The claim clears only if all claimed material is successfully removed or replaced. If a portion remains, the claim may remain too. See YouTube’s guidance on removing claimed content from videos for the current Studio options.
Prevent the intro from triggering another live issue
Remove or replace the music in the live audio source
For the next broadcast, remove the claimed intro music from the audio source feeding the live stream, or replace it with music whose rights cover the intended livestream and any replay. Editing the archived video does not change the intro in the source used for a future broadcast.

If you have a license, ask about allowlisting
Verify that the license covers the exact use you plan—live broadcast, archived replay, and relevant territories as applicable. If a licensed track is still detected during a live stream, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone does not guarantee that live detection will not interrupt a stream.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsDispute only when you have a sound basis
Consider disputing a claim if you have all necessary rights, believe a copyright exception applies, or believe the match is mistaken. Giving credit, owning a copy of the track, or choosing not to monetize the stream are not, by themselves, valid reasons to dispute. YouTube notes that it cannot decide whether you should dispute; that depends on the facts of your use and rights.
For an initial dispute, the claimant has 30 days to respond. If the dispute is rejected, further escalation can carry additional risk, including a copyright removal request and strike. Read YouTube’s dispute guidance and assess your position before proceeding. This is general platform information, not a legal determination about a particular intro or use.
Choose the fix that matches the notice
| What happened | Practical response | Important point |
|---|---|---|
| Valid claim on archived audio | Trim the segment, replace the song, or erase the claimed audio if Studio offers the option. | Preview first; the claim clears only if all claimed material is dealt with successfully. |
| The match seems mistaken or the use is rights-cleared | Review the claim details and dispute only if you have a sound basis. | The claimant has 30 days to respond to an initial dispute; escalation can carry additional enforcement risk. |
| Licensed music triggers live detection | Confirm the license scope and ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel. | A license does not by itself guarantee no live interruption. |
| You want to avoid a repeat on the next broadcast | Remove or replace the music in the live audio source before streaming. | Editing the replay does not change the source for the next stream. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your channel runs prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube stream, StreamNeo can keep the stream running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It does not clear copyright claims or grant music rights, so use content you are authorized to stream.
