Buying a beat does not, by itself, prove that your YouTube livestream or its archived replay is covered. The exact license agreement for your purchase determines what uses the rights holder granted. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party matches, and a stream can be interrupted even when you have permission if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. If the stream is archived, YouTube says Content ID claims are made after the livestream ends.
What does a purchased beat license need to cover?
Check the agreement issued for your specific transaction—not just the receipt, the beat listing, or a general description of a license tier. BeatStars says producers set their own license terms, and its marketplace agreement is generated from the seller’s configured terms and transaction details. Terms can vary between producers and purchases. BeatStars’ buyer guidance explains that producers manage their own terms.
Review the executed agreement, including any customized or amended terms, for language covering:

- Livestreaming: Does it permit live broadcasts on YouTube, rather than only prerecorded uploads?
- Archived video: Does the grant cover keeping the livestream recording available as an on-demand video after the broadcast?
- Monetization: Is monetized streaming or video use permitted, and are there conditions or caps?
- Performance rights: Does the grant address public performance or other rights needed for a live broadcast?
- Limits: Are there territory, term, audience, view-count, or other usage limits relevant to your channel?
- Content ID: Does the agreement restrict registration or explain how to handle claims and channel allowlisting?
These are questions to check, not clauses guaranteed to appear in every contract. BeatStars’ contract documentation describes configurable fields such as monetized and non-monetized video streams and for-profit and non-profit performances; their presence and terms depend on the seller’s setup. General descriptions of non-exclusive, standard, premium, unlimited, or exclusive licenses do not establish that a particular agreement covers livestreams and replays.

Rights may also involve more than the beat seller’s recording. YouTube’s livestream terms refer to music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers—including public performance licenses—and other royalty participants. A license from one party may not answer every rights question about a composition, sound recording, sample, or other contributor.
Why a stream can be interrupted even if you paid
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If its systems detect a match, YouTube may show a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. YouTube says that having a license does not necessarily prevent interruption: if the channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist, the stream may still be affected.

- Includes original components such as photo book, photo card, and other version-specific contents.
- Official release from the respective entertainment label.

YouTube’s guidance for licensed third-party content is to ask the owner to add your channel to its allowlist through Content ID. Permission in your contract and YouTube’s ability to recognize that permission are separate issues. Allowlisting can address a rights-management mismatch, but it does not expand the rights granted by your agreement.
Live interruption and an archived-video claim are different
| Stage | What may happen | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| During the livestream | YouTube’s live scan may identify a match and warn, interrupt, or terminate the stream. A licensed channel may still be interrupted if it is not allowlisted. | Check the notice in YouTube Studio and ask the rights owner whether your channel should be allowlisted. |
| After the livestream, if it is archived | YouTube says Content ID claims are made after the livestream ends when the stream is archived. | Review the claim details on the archived video and compare them with the agreement’s coverage of the replay. |
A live interruption is not the same event as a later Content ID claim on a saved recording. Either can occur, and neither alone settles what your contract permits.

What to do before going live
- Find the transaction documents. Save the exact license agreement and receipt. Confirm the beat title, transaction, seller, and agreement version; include any amendments or custom terms.
- Check the planned uses against the grant. Confirm that the terms cover a YouTube live broadcast, the intended monetization, and keeping the archived replay available. Check applicable limits and exclusions.
- Ask the rights owner in writing. Ask whether the license covers both the planned livestream and its archived VOD, and whether the channel needs to be added to the Content ID allowlist. YouTube specifically recommends asking the owner to allowlist licensed channels.
- Keep useful records together. Retain the agreement, receipt, beat title, claimant details if any, and the livestream or video URL. These help you explain the transaction if a rights-management issue arises.
What to do if you receive a claim or interruption
If YouTube interrupts the live broadcast
- Read the specific notice in YouTube Studio and note the matched content and rights owner identified.
- Compare the notice with your beat agreement and any written confirmation about livestream use.
- Contact the rights owner or administrator about the interruption and ask whether your channel can be allowlisted.
If the archived livestream receives a Content ID claim
- Review the claimant and claim details, then check whether your agreement covers the archived video and the way you used the beat.
- If a distributor is involved, BeatStars recommends providing it with the agreement where relevant; also contact the producer to clarify the claim.
- Use the dispute process only if you have a good-faith basis under the agreement and the rights you hold. A purchase receipt alone may not show which rights were granted, and a license does not guarantee that every claim will be released.
A claim can reflect a rights-management mismatch rather than prove that you have no license. BeatStars notes that a claim may occur even after purchase of the correct license and recommends checking compliance with the agreement, sharing it with a distributor where relevant, and contacting the producer. That guidance does not mean every claim is invalid or guarantee a particular outcome.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep prerecorded video playing continuously on YouTube, rather than broadcast a live performance, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos; it does not stream from a camera. It cannot grant music rights or prevent a rights owner or YouTube from enforcing a claim, so confirm that your beat license covers the use before streaming.

No general license label or platform rule can determine whether your particular purchase covers your particular broadcast. That depends on the executed agreement, the rights involved, and the claimant’s information. If the terms are unclear or a dispute could have significant consequences, consult a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
