For a 1080p, 30 fps YouTube Live stream, YouTube recommends 14 Mbps with H.264 or 10 Mbps with AV1 or H.265/HEVC. Set bitrate control to CBR and keyframes to 2 seconds. Before going live with Hindi songs, separately confirm that you have the rights to every track: a suitable bitrate does not make copyrighted music safe to broadcast.
Recommended YouTube Live settings for 1080p at 30 fps
YouTube’s current live encoder guidance, accessed in 2026, sets bitrate by the codec sent to YouTube. Use the row that matches your encoder’s output; these are live ingestion figures, not recommendations for uploading a finished video.

The recommended figure is YouTube’s encoder setting guidance, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming or a promise that viewers will receive a particular quality. YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingestion. If you are unsure which codec your encoder sends, check its output or streaming settings rather than selecting a bitrate based on the codec you wish it used. YouTube Live encoder settings

- Bitrate control: CBR (constant bitrate).
- Keyframe interval: 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Audio: YouTube recommends AAC or MP3. For stereo, its guidance recommends 128 Kbps at 44.1 kHz.
- Ingestion protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP.
Choose a bitrate your connection can sustain
A bitrate setting only works if the upload connection can deliver the stream reliably. YouTube advises choosing quality that fits your available connection and running an upload speed test. Its guidance does not prescribe one universal upload-speed headroom multiplier, so do not treat a fixed multiplier as an official requirement.

- Set the intended output. Configure 1080p, 30 fps, the codec and bitrate you plan to use for the actual stream.
- Test the upload connection. Run an upload speed test from the network and location you will use to stream. A speed result is a snapshot; it does not establish that the connection will remain steady throughout a long broadcast.
- Run a representative test stream. Include the audio and movement expected in the playlist, and check YouTube’s stream health and any warnings before the event.
- Adjust if the stream is unstable. If the connection cannot sustain the selected output, reduce the stream quality or bitrate and test again. Do not choose 14 Mbps simply because it is the H.264 recommendation if your connection cannot deliver it consistently.
- Monitor during the broadcast. Watch YouTube’s stream health and messages; respond to warnings rather than assuming a successful pre-event test guarantees a stable event.
YouTube’s 1080p 30 fps bitrate table does not specify a separate rate for Hindi music, playlists or static artwork. Use the codec row for the stream’s actual resolution and frame rate, then test representative content. YouTube’s live encoder guidance
Clear the Hindi song playlist before going live
Copyright is a separate go-live check from encoder configuration. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the material; if the material continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If you have a license, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist: a licensed stream can still be interrupted when the channel is not allowlisted. Check each track, not just the playlist label
- Music may be safe to use when it is in the public domain or you have permission from the copyright owner.
- A track described as “free” is not automatically clear of copyright claims or Content ID matches.
- YouTube points creators to the Audio Library and Creator Music, or to third-party sources whose license terms they have checked.
- Confirm that the permission covers your intended use, territories and live broadcast; if the rights holder uses Content ID, confirm whether your channel needs to be allowlisted.
