For a 1080p, 30fps YouTube Live stream, YouTube recommends 14 Mbps for H.264 or 10 Mbps for AV1/H.265 video ingestion. Use constant bitrate (CBR) and a 2-second keyframe interval. These encoder settings help deliver the stream; they do not grant permission to broadcast Tamil movie songs. You need rights for the intended live use, and YouTube may interrupt a stream that matches third-party content.
Recommended YouTube Live settings for 1080p30
The figures below are for live-stream ingestion, not YouTube’s recommendations for uploading ordinary videos. YouTube’s official guidance, checked on October 3, 2026, gives different bitrate recommendations depending on the incoming video codec; the page does not state a publication date. YouTube Help: Live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.
| Ingest video codec | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| H.264 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265 | 4 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
Set the encoder’s target to the recommendation for the codec you actually send. The minimum is a stated floor, not the target to choose when you can reliably sustain the recommended rate. YouTube advises testing with similar content and monitoring stream health; use a stable connection that can maintain the chosen setting.
Keyframe interval and bitrate mode
- Bitrate mode: Constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframe interval: 2 seconds recommended; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol: RTMPS where your encoder supports it.
YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple output formats. Your 1080p30 settings describe the feed sent to YouTube; they do not guarantee that every viewer receives 1080p, since YouTube creates viewer-facing formats.

How to apply the settings and check the stream
- Choose the ingest codec. In your encoder’s streaming or output settings, identify whether the outgoing video is H.264 or AV1/H.265. Use the matching recommended bitrate above.
- Set the video output. Choose 1920 × 1080 resolution and 30 frames per second, then set the bitrate mode to CBR.
- Set keyframes. Use a 2-second keyframe interval and do not set it above 4 seconds.
- Configure the YouTube connection. Use YouTube’s live ingest configuration in your encoder and choose RTMPS if available. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Test before the playlist. Send a test with similar motion and audio, and check YouTube’s stream-health feedback while it is running. If the feed is unstable, choose a setting your upload connection can sustain consistently rather than relying on a peak speed reading.
Bitrate does not clear Tamil movie songs
A correctly configured stream can still be interrupted for rights reasons. YouTube’s livestream terms make the creator responsible for obtaining the rights needed for live content, including relevant music rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. That requirement concerns the intended live use and relevant territories; buying a track or describing it as free does not, by itself, establish that the rights cover a live broadcast.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects such content and it remains in the stream, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube also warns that licensed content may still trigger an interruption if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Confirm both that your permission covers the planned live use and that any required channel allowlisting is in place before relying on a license. These are platform requirements, not a determination of the law in every territory. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams · YouTube Livestream terms and conditions.

Creator Music is not a live-playlist clearance route
YouTube’s Creator Music guidance says tracks offered for licensing or revenue sharing may be used in long-form videos, not live streams. Do not treat a Creator Music license or revenue-sharing option as permission to include those tracks in a live playlist. YouTube Help: Use Creator Music.

If the goal is to keep uploaded recordings playing continuously on YouTube, the bitrate guidance above still applies to the feed YouTube receives, and the music-rights requirements still apply to every recording. A computer-based encoder is one way to send a feed, but it depends on that computer, encoder and internet connection remaining available. For a 24/7 YouTube stream from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is the cloud option to consider first: it loops uploads from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.
