If your YouTube gaming rerun ends when the playlist reaches its final file, first enable repeat for the playback source and confirm the playlist contains every intended video. The player supplies content to the encoder; YouTube’s live event is a separate part of the setup. Check both if playback loops but the broadcast still stops or loses its feed.
1. Check what is playing the rerun
Identify the software or device that feeds video to your encoder. It may be a single-file media source, a playlist source, or a separate playback tool. This matters because the repeat control may apply to one file rather than the whole playlist.
- One recording: look for a repeat or loop option on the media source.
- Several recordings: look for a control that repeats the entire playlist, and verify that the intended files are in the list.
Setting names and locations vary by software and version, so use the playback tool’s controls rather than assuming a particular menu path.
2. Enable repeat and test the playlist
- Turn on the media source’s loop or repeat control. For a playlist, make sure the setting repeats the whole playlist, not just the current item.
- Check the playlist from beginning to end. Remove unintended entries and add any missing files that should play in the rerun.
- Watch playback and encoder output across the point where the final file previously ended. The source must continue supplying video for the encoder to keep transmitting a feed.

3. If playback continues, check the encoder and YouTube event
If the media source moves back to the start but the stream still ends or loses its feed, inspect the encoder connection and the event in YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube documents the stream key and stream URL as the connection details used by the encoder, and its live settings include auto-start and auto-stop controls. Review the settings for your event and confirm the encoder is using the intended connection details: YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.
Playback, encoder output, and the YouTube event are separate points to check. A looping playlist does not by itself confirm that the encoder is connected or that the live event remains active.

4. Pinpoint the failure if it still stops
- The last file ends and playback stops: the repeat control may be off, may apply only to the current file, or the playlist may not be configured to repeat as a whole. Check the source’s loop setting and playlist contents.
- Playback restarts, but encoder output stops: inspect the encoder’s output and connection. Confirm it is still sending a feed using the intended YouTube stream key and URL.
- The encoder continues, but YouTube loses the feed or ends the event: check stream health and the event’s Live Control Room settings, including auto-start and auto-stop.
When seeking software-specific help, collect the playback software name and version, source type, encoder log, and YouTube stream-health status.
