An ISP address change may have happened just before your YouTube stream stopped, but that timing alone does not show it caused the outage. YouTube’s guidance does not say a changed public IP invalidates a stream key. First check the encoder and YouTube’s stream-health messages, then test the outbound connection and verify the YouTube server URL and stream key. Reset the key only if the evidence points to a key problem—not solely because the ISP address changed.
1. Check whether the encoder is still sending
Start with the computer, encoder, or other device that sends the video to YouTube. Confirm the streaming process is running and review its output for errors. Then open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and check the stream-health messages. YouTube recommends checking encoder health; if the encoder output looks healthy, the outbound internet connection may be the problem. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide explains these checks.
Distinguish a stopped encoder from an encoder that is still sending but cannot maintain a reliable connection. That distinction determines whether you should focus first on the streaming setup or the network.
2. Test the outbound internet connection
Run an internet connection test, as YouTube recommends. For a 24/7 stream, it is useful to assess the connection while the encoder is carrying its normal streaming workload, where practical; this is a diagnostic suggestion, not a separate YouTube requirement. If the test identifies a connection issue, contact your ISP and ask it to investigate the service and route.

A public IP address changing is not, on its own, a connection test or proof of a fault. The available YouTube guidance is general and does not identify an Indian ISP, or any provider-wide issue, as the cause of this type of outage.
3. Verify the YouTube destination and stream key
In the encoder, check that the destination uses the YouTube Live server URL and the stream key shown in YouTube Studio. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address” in Manage live stream settings. This describes the encoder’s destination and credential; it does not mean the key is tied to the ISP’s public IP address.

If YouTube or the encoder reports a key-related error, you can reset the key in Live Control Room and then update the encoder with the new key. Do not reset it just because the ISP address changed: the official instructions explain how to reset a key, but do not say an ISP IP change requires one. 4. Match the next action to the evidence

YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance covers encoder and connection checks. Its setup guidance covers the server URL and stream key. Neither establishes a direct link between an ISP public-IP change and a stream-key failure.
