Your old graphics card may still have resale value, but there is no honest one-size-fits-all figure. The exact GPU model, memory variant, condition, country, and selling route all affect what it might bring. Start by identifying the card, then compare recent completed sales for the same model in your market.

Why an old GPU’s value can vary so much

“Old GPU” is not a useful price category by itself. In a German snapshot of completed eBay sales dated October 5, 2026, HWIndex reported a median of €1,325 for an RTX 3090 and €50 for a GTX 1050 Ti. Those are model-level medians, not guaranteed prices for an individual card. The snapshot included 1,597 sales across 142 GPU models from the prior 30 days; HWIndex says each included model had at least three sales and that prices include shipping. HWIndex’s German used-GPU data is specific to that market and period.

To get a useful estimate, identify the card precisely. Check the label on the card or its original box, or look up the GPU in your computer’s system information. Note the exact model and memory configuration: variants with the same broad GPU name may not be directly comparable.

How to estimate your card’s resale value

  1. Identify the exact card. Record the GPU model and memory variant. Include the board or card model if available, especially when listings distinguish between manufacturers or versions.
  2. Search completed sales in your country. Look for multiple recently sold listings of the same variant, not just current listings asking for a particular price. HWIndex uses completed eBay.de sales over the previous 30 days, while PC Part Value says its used-price modes use completed eBay sales. PC Part Value says its prices were updated September 30, 2026.
  3. Compare like with like. Where possible, set aside broken cards, parts-only listings, multi-card lots, and different memory variants. Compare shipping-included totals consistently. Use a median or middle range across comparable sales rather than treating one unusually cheap result as typical.
  4. Account for condition and function. A working card with ordinary wear is not equivalent to one that is damaged or sold for parts. Be clear about the card’s working status and visible condition when deciding which sales are relevant.
  5. Choose the right kind of price evidence. Completed sales show what buyers paid; active listings show what sellers are asking. CresvaMent’s US eBay index is based on active listings and explicitly describes its figures as asking prices, not sold prices. CresvaMent’s index should therefore not be treated as proof that a card will sell at its listed price.

Keep market prices, asking prices, and buyback offers separate

These figures answer different questions, so they should not be blended into a single price range.

Reference What it measures Geography and period What to keep in mind
HWIndex Median prices from completed sales, including shipping eBay.de; 30-day snapshot dated October 5, 2026 Model medians; included models had at least three sales. Not a guaranteed individual sale price.
PC Part Value Used-price modes based on completed eBay sales, with median and percentile views Prices updated September 30, 2026; the page describes eBay sales but does not establish one country-specific market in the cited methodology Its page describes the 25th percentile and median as steadier reference points than one unusually cheap sale.
CresvaMent Active eBay listing prices United States; index page, with no completed-sale period stated These are asking prices, not evidence that a transaction occurred at that amount.
PC Atlas Target price based on completed sales including postage United Kingdom; 90-day method The page showed no fetched sales for its listed models when checked, so it did not provide observed sale figures for those models at that time.
RebootSemi The dealer’s published offer for a working used card Offers dated October 5, 2026 Its table defines “used” as working with normal wear; the company says accepted offers are locked for 10 days. This is a dealer offer, not a prediction of a private-market sale.

For more price references, Second Hand Silicon describes its model lookup as using completed eBay sales and updating daily. Geography, sample period, shipping treatment, and sale route still matter when comparing any source. German completed-sale medians, US active asking prices, UK sale targets, and a dealer’s buyback offer are not interchangeable.

When a buyback quote makes sense

A buyback quote can be useful if convenience matters more than pursuing a private sale. Compare a current offer for your working card with the range you found from comparable completed sales. The dealer’s figure reflects its own offer process; it does not establish what a private buyer will pay. Check the offer’s conditions and validity before relying on it.

For its published offers dated October 5, 2026, RebootSemi says accepted offers are locked for 10 days and defines a used card as working with normal wear. RebootSemi’s GPU price FAQ also frames the reader’s central question directly: “How much is my graphics card worth?”

What your estimate can—and cannot—tell you

A handful of comparable completed sales can give you a grounded reference for setting expectations, but the available pricing methods do not provide a formula that predicts the final price of your particular card. The estimate is only as useful as the match between your GPU and the examples: exact variant, condition, location, date, shipping, and sale route all count.
