What changed in the June 2026 update?
Game Capture and DirectX 12
XSplit says its June update improves Game Capture reliability, especially with DirectX 12 games. It names Forza Horizon 6, Cyberpunk 2077, and GTA V Enhanced as examples. This is XSplit’s description of the update, not an independently measured performance result. XSplit’s June 2026 update
Twitch Dual Format
The June guidance describes using Multi Output Mode to prepare horizontal and vertical layouts. In Twitch channel properties, enable Enhanced Broadcasting and Dual Format. This workflow is for Twitch; it is separate from the YouTube Dual Stream feature discussed in XSplit’s March notes.
What arrived in May 2026?
Live Captions
Broadcaster version 4.6.2605.2109 added Live Captions, which XSplit says it tested with Twitch and YouTube Live. For YouTube, turn on Send Caption in the XSplit tool and Closed Captions in YouTube’s Live pre-stream dialog. AI Voice Clarity and audio defaults
AI Voice Clarity was added among microphone noise-suppression options. The release also made Presentation Sources the default Audio Mode and added Default Speaker and Default Microphones to the mixer by default. If your audio routing sounds different after updating, check the selected Audio Mode and mixer sources before changing your microphone or speaker hardware.
Pre-stream dialog and background removal
The pre-stream dialog can be shown every time or skipped by reusing earlier stream details. The May note names Facebook, Kick, Twitch, Vimeo, and YouTube Live for this behavior. It also reports background-removal refinements, platform fixes, and stability fixes without quantified performance claims.

What changed earlier in 2026?
March: controls, Preview Editor, and platform workflows
Broadcaster 4.5.2603.0506 moved key Stream and Record controls and revamped the Preview Editor workflow. It added YouTube thumbnail support and YouTube Dual Stream for eligible users; at that time, XSplit said encoder access was limited to select users and stream keys had to be copied manually. The release also added in-app editing of Twitch broadcast details and expanded automatic background removal to NDI and Webpage sources. XSplit’s March 2026 release notes
If controls or output assignment seem to have moved, check the updated top-bar and Preview Editor workflow rather than relying on an older tutorial. YouTube Dual Stream eligibility and setup can change, so confirm the current options in XSplit and YouTube before planning around it.

January: Spout2 Source
The January 2026 release added Spout2 Source for compatible applications, with VTube Studio and Animaze given as examples. It matters when another application can provide a Spout2 output to Broadcaster; it is not a general replacement for every capture method.

How to decide whether an update matters to your setup
- Game streaming: If you capture a DirectX 12 game, the June Game Capture update is the most directly relevant change; check whether your issue is resolved rather than assuming a guaranteed result.
- Vertical and horizontal Twitch streams: Review Multi Output Mode and the Twitch Dual Format settings described in June.
- Captions or microphone cleanup: Check the May Live Captions workflow and AI Voice Clarity option. YouTube captions require the XSplit and YouTube settings noted above.
- Scene and source workflows: Spout2 may help when a compatible app supplies it; March’s background-removal expansion covers NDI and Webpage sources.
- Platform-specific output: Check the late-2025 changes if you use Vimeo, Kick, or the listed SRT destinations.
Check your version, requirements, and recovery options
Verify the installed build
Release notes are the reliable place to match a feature to its version. The newest dated update located here is June 2026, but the available release listings do not establish that no later build was released before October 3, 2026. Check XSplit’s release pages before treating any build as current.
Windows and published system requirements
XSplit’s requirements page, updated November 11, 2025, lists Broadcaster as Windows-only and requires Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a second-generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent processor, 250 MB available storage, and GeForce- or Radeon-class graphics with DirectX 10.1 or better. It recommends a fourth-generation Core i5 or equivalent for 720p and Core i7 or equivalent for 1080p. These are XSplit’s published requirements, not a guarantee that a particular PC will encode a specific game and stream smoothly. If a new release causes a problem
XSplit’s version guidance says it generally supports versions downloadable from its own site, maintains at least two stable releases, and may replace older versions as newer patches or releases arrive. If the newest release causes an issue, XSplit directs users to download the latest previous stable version from its site. Confirm the current rollback instructions and version availability with XSplit’s version guidance before reverting.
