The Docker image servethehome/monero_dwarfpool:xmrig is a legacy artifact—not a verified current way to connect to Dwarfpool. XMRig documents no special “image testing” procedure for that container.
What “image testing” means here
The phrase can mean testing XMRig performance from a Docker image, but the available documentation does not establish a dedicated test procedure for the named image. Treat benchmarking as an XMRig task, and treat the old Dwarfpool container as a separate historical artifact. A benchmark result does not establish that the image is safe, supported, or connected to a working pool.
Choose the right XMRig test mode

Commands and behavior are documented by the XMRig benchmark documentation and the online benchmark page. Stop an indefinite stress run when you have completed the load test.
Run a finite offline benchmark
- Use a current XMRig release and open a terminal in the directory containing the executable.
- Run
xmrig --bench=1Mfor the shorter documented benchmark, orxmrig --bench=10Mfor the larger run. - Review elapsed time and the checksum in the output. XMRig says a green checksum indicates correct computation; a red checksum indicates a hardware error.
The benchmark is offline, so it does not submit results or require a pool connection. The checksum is a correctness signal, not a performance rating.

Submit an online result
Follow the exact --submit syntax on XMRig’s benchmark page, which requires Internet access. XMRig’s documentation says RandomX v2 benchmarking requires version 6.26.0 or later; check the current release and page before running version-specific commands, since the requirement may not describe every benchmark type.
Prepare for representative results
XMRig advises checking that huge pages are at 100% for both the dataset and threads, and that MSR register values were set successfully, for best results. Setting up huge pages and MSR requires administrator privileges according to the project documentation. These are configuration recommendations, not guarantees: availability and results depend on the operating system and hardware.

What the Dwarfpool Docker image tells you—and what it does not
Docker Hub lists servethehome/monero_dwarfpool:xmrig as a Linux/amd64 image and says it was last pushed almost nine years before the listing was accessed. That makes it a legacy image. The listing does not establish current maintenance, safety, or whether the pool configuration still works. See the Docker Hub listing before drawing conclusions about the artifact itself.
A ServeTheHome article from October 15, 2017 described moving to a universal Dockerized XMRig image. Its example defaulted to Dwarfpool USA and showed launch parameters for pool, wallet, password, threads, and donation settings. Those details describe a 2017 setup, not current connection instructions. The article is useful historical context, not evidence of present-day pool availability or recommended configuration: ServeTheHome’s 2017 report.

Historical performance figures are not current hardware guidance
ServeTheHome’s 2017 results were specific to the systems and configuration it tested. The report attributed 9.7%–15% higher performance to CPU-set/NUMA tuning on certain dual-socket Intel Xeon E5 v3 systems, and more than 20% improvement to NUMA-constraining on AMD EPYC systems, especially dual-socket configurations. It reported just under 4 KH/s on a dual AMD EPYC 7601 and just under 6 KH/s on a quad Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 in that setup.
These are dated, configuration-specific observations, not expected results for today’s processors. The report does not provide a current, independently verified performance baseline, and those figures should not be used as a buying guide.

If your goal is pool mining, verify the pool separately
A local benchmark or successful stress run does not prove that a pool is operating or that payouts will work. Monero’s official pool-mining guide says to prepare a working wallet first because the pool needs an address for payments; it recommends an unused wallet, subaccount, or subaddress.
- Check whether the pool is currently available and obtain its current connection parameters from the pool itself.
- Review its fee and minimum withdrawal threshold before connecting.
- Consider pool size: Monero’s guide recommends smaller pools to support network decentralization.
Fees, thresholds, endpoints, and availability can change. The 2017 Dwarfpool configuration in the old image is not a substitute for checking current pool information.
