In Xiaomi India’s observed store listings, the Redmi Note 17 5G costs ₹27,999 for 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G costs ₹39,999 for 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage—a ₹12,000 difference. The Note 17 5G has the larger display and battery capacity; the Note 15 Pro+ 5G has the stronger chipset and higher-resolution main camera in 91mobiles’ comparison. Because the listed prices cover different memory configurations, this is not a like-for-like price comparison.
India prices and configurations
Xiaomi India lists the Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999 with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G at ₹39,999 with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The difference between those observed listings is ₹12,000, with the Note 17 5G priced lower. These are India-market listings, not guaranteed current prices or launch prices; discounts, stock, and configurations can change. Check the Xiaomi India store for current availability and the configuration being sold.
The price gap also reflects different memory and storage tiers. The Chilean Note 17 5G specification page lists 6 GB RAM with either 128 GB or 256 GB storage, but that does not establish the price of a matching 256 GB model in India. Compare the same market and storage tier before treating the difference as a direct value comparison.

Which phone has the faster performance?
The listed chipsets position the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G as the performance-oriented model: 91mobiles compares its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 with the Note 17 5G’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. 91mobiles also reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 3,272 for the Note 15 Pro Plus and 2,333 for the Note 17 5G. Those figures are the comparison site’s reported results; testing conditions are not established here, and they are not independent tests. Treat them as a point of reference, not a guarantee of performance in every workload.
Display, camera, and battery differences
Display size
The Note 17 5G has the larger listed screen at 6.99 inches, compared with 6.83 inches for the Note 15 Pro+ 5G in 91mobiles’ comparison. Xiaomi describes the Note 17 5G panel as FHD+ AMOLED with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Screen size alone does not determine sharpness or viewing quality, so consider resolution and your preference for a larger display as well.

On listed main-camera resolution, the Note 15 Pro+ 5G leads with 200 MP versus 50 MP for the Note 17 5G. The comparison lists an 8 MP ultra-wide on the Note 15 Pro+ 5G and a 2 MP secondary camera on the Note 17 5G. Megapixel counts describe resolution, not overall photo quality; they do not establish which phone takes better pictures.

Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi Chile lists a typical 7,700 mAh battery and 45 W charging for the Note 17 5G. 91mobiles lists 6,500 mAh and 100 W for the Note 15 Pro+ 5G. On those figures, the Note 17 5G has the larger stated capacity, while the Note 15 Pro+ 5G has the higher charging wattage. Battery life and charging time depend on more than capacity and rated charging power, and the Note 15 Pro+ figures should be checked against the regional model you are considering.

What to consider before buying the Note 17 5G
Xiaomi says the Note 17 5G package does not include a power adapter and recommends a Xiaomi adapter rated at 45 W or higher. Check the product listing and package contents for your region, and confirm charger compatibility if you need to buy one separately.

- Consider the Redmi Note 17 5G if you prefer the lower observed India listing and the larger screen, and its listed chipset and camera specifications meet your needs.
For either model, check the current price, exact RAM and storage configuration, and regional specifications before ordering. The ₹12,000 observed gap compares unlike configurations, so it does not show what the difference would be between matching storage tiers.
