The XHDATA D-368 is a compact, inexpensive portable radio that combines FM, AM and shortwave reception with Bluetooth and USB/TF media playback. Its removable 18650 battery and USB-C charging are useful travel features. Its main compromises are basic tuning, a reported speaker-stereo issue and 9 kHz AM channel spacing that may not suit North American listeners.
What the XHDATA D-368 offers
The D-368 is designed for listeners who want several broadcast bands and personal audio in one small device. It covers FM, medium-wave AM and shortwave, and can also play audio over Bluetooth or from USB and TF (microSD) storage. There is a headphone jack for private listening.
XHDATA describes the upgraded model as a portable stereo radio and music player, but that wording is product positioning rather than a measured performance claim. The manufacturer’s product page lists its bands, battery and included accessories: XHDATA D-368 product page. Hackaday’s review page also identifies the SD slot, USB port, headphone output and USB-C power port: Hackaday D-368 review.

How it performs for listening
FM and shortwave
In an independent review, Todderbert reported solid FM and shortwave reception, straightforward controls and a useful tuning indicator. That makes the D-368 a plausible entry-level option for casual shortwave listening, but the observation is one reviewer’s experience; it does not establish reception performance in every location or quantify sensitivity. The review is available at Todderbert’s D-368 review.
Speaker and headphones
The same reviewer found the small speaker loud enough to fill a room and reported decent FM stereo through headphones. However, the review also noted that stereo media could lose the right channel or play in mono through the speaker. Treat that as a reported behavior rather than a verified fault affecting every unit. If stereo music is important, headphone listening is the safer choice based on the available account.

AM channel spacing
The listed AM spacing is 9 kHz. North American medium-wave broadcasts are generally arranged on a 10 kHz channel grid, so the D-368’s spacing may be awkward for listeners in the Americas who expect standard 10 kHz tuning. This is a practical regional caveat, not a reason to dismiss the radio for FM or shortwave use.

The radio uses a removable 3.7 V 18650 lithium cell, so the battery is replaceable rather than permanently built in. The supplied charging cable connects to USB-C; the manufacturer specifies a 5 V input of at least 1 A. The manual says the charging LED turns off when the battery is fully charged, which is an indicator instruction—not evidence of a particular charge time or listening runtime.

- Not established: Buyers who need a verified runtime or quantified sensitivity should seek testing that supplies those measurements; neither is established by the available sources.
