There is no evidence-backed universal winner between Xbox Series X and PC for Gears of War: E-Day. Xbox offers a fixed-spec option with official support claims for 4K Ultra HD, HDR and 60 FPS; PC offers more graphics and performance technologies, but results depend on the computer and settings. Choose based on the hardware you already own, how you play, and whether you value PC configuration options—not on an unverified claim that one version is faster or looks better.

At a glance: Xbox Series X vs. PC

Decision Xbox Series X Windows PC
Availability Xbox Series X|S Windows 10/11; Microsoft Store and Steam
Official graphics and performance details Xbox lists 4K Ultra HD, HDR and 60 FPS support for Series X|S. These are platform support claims, not independent measurements. Xbox lists DirectX 12, hardware ray tracing, and support for DLSS 4.5, Reflex, FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, XeSS and Advanced Shader Delivery.
Hardware consistency One fixed console model; no component selection or graphics-setting tuning required. Results depend on components and settings. Xbox announced PC requirements, but the actual thresholds are not stated in the retrieved article text.
Shared progress Xbox Play Anywhere shares progression and achievements with the Xbox PC app/Store version. The same Play Anywhere benefit applies to the Xbox ecosystem PC version. Steam is a separate storefront.
Split-screen The official Xbox listing specifies two-player split-screen on console. The reviewed official listing does not confirm split-screen on PC.

The official descriptions do not establish that either platform is faster or better-looking at equivalent settings. No matched independent Xbox-versus-PC benchmark was verified, so graphics features should not be mistaken for comparative test results.

Which platform fits your setup?

Choose Xbox Series X if you want a straightforward console setup

  • You already own a Series X and prefer not to configure PC hardware or graphics settings.
  • You want the officially listed console split-screen option for a two-player campaign session.
  • You want Xbox Play Anywhere progression shared with the Xbox ecosystem PC version, while keeping in mind that this does not turn an Xbox purchase into a Steam copy.

Choose PC if flexibility matters more

  • You already have a Windows gaming PC you expect to use for the game; compare its components with the final published requirements before deciding.
  • You want the option to use PC graphics and performance technologies such as DLSS 4.5, FSR, XeSS or Reflex, where compatible. Their presence does not guarantee a particular frame rate or image quality on your machine.
  • You want the choice of Microsoft Store or Steam. Storefront choice matters for ownership and ecosystem features: the Xbox Play Anywhere statement applies to the Xbox ecosystem, not automatically to Steam.

Compare total cost only after accounting for what you own

A platform cannot be called better value for everyone without current local prices and the reader’s existing hardware. If you already have a suitable PC or Series X, that changes the comparison substantially. If buying new, include the full cost of the hardware you need, and check current regional game or subscription terms rather than relying on a universal price claim.

What is confirmed about the PC version?

Xbox confirms a Windows 10/11 release through the Microsoft Store and Steam. It lists DirectX 12, hardware ray tracing and support for DLSS 4.5, Reflex, FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, XeSS and Advanced Shader Delivery. These technologies give PC players a range of rendering and performance options, but the official feature list does not show how they compare with Series X in a controlled test.

Bottom line: pick for your hardware and play style

Series X is the simpler fixed-hardware choice, with Xbox’s stated 4K Ultra HD, HDR and 60 FPS support and confirmed console split-screen. PC is the flexible choice for players with compatible hardware who want its available graphics technologies and storefront options. Neither is proven to outperform the other in a matched test, so the practical decision comes down to what you already own, where you want to play, and which features matter to you.
