Xbox’s Ubisoft Free Play Days offer ran October 1–4, 2026, and has ended. During that window, all Xbox members could try five Ubisoft games without Game Pass membership. A separate Xbox Wire roundup lists games scheduled for October 5–9, with release dates subject to change.
Which Ubisoft games were free to try?
Xbox Wire’s October 1 announcement said these five titles were free for all Xbox members to try through Sunday, October 4, 2026:
- Far Cry 6 — open-world action.
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey — historical action role-playing.
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora — science-fiction exploration and action.
- Skull and Bones — pirate-themed naval play.
- The Crew Motorfest — car-culture driving.
These were event dates, not an ongoing free-play offer. Xbox said Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential membership was not required to try the games during the promotion. See Xbox Wire’s Free Play Days announcement for the event details.
How players accessed the trial
For console access during the event, Xbox directed players to the Xbox Store’s Subscriptions tab and the Free Play Days collection. The games could also be installed from their individual Xbox.com detail pages. Those directions applied while the October 1–4 promotion was active.

Prices shown in the October 1 Xbox Wire post included Far Cry 6 at $8.99, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at $11.99, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at $16.49, and The Crew Motorfest at $47.99. These are dated examples from that post, not current or universal prices; the excerpt reviewed did not show a purchase price for Skull and Bones.
What new Xbox games were listed for October 5–9?
In a separate October 2 post, Xbox Wire editor Mike Nelson rounded up games coming soon to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox on PC, and Game Pass. The post says release dates can change; platform availability and purchase or pre-order status depend on each game. The selected entries below reflect the dates and status described in the roundup, rather than a guarantee of release.
