Apple’s WWDC 2024 keynote began at 10 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 10, and was streamed free on Apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and Apple’s YouTube channel. WWDC ran June 10–14, 2024. Its headline announcement was Apple Intelligence, alongside updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS.
How to watch the WWDC 2024 keynote
The keynote was streamed live at 10 a.m. PDT (1 p.m. EDT) on June 10, 2024. Apple offered four viewing routes:
- Apple.com in a web browser
- The Apple Developer app
- The Apple TV app
- Apple’s YouTube channel
Apple made the keynote available to replay on demand after the live stream. Its viewing page also offered an American Sign Language version. The event has passed, but the recording can still be viewed through Apple’s event and video platforms.
What Apple announced at WWDC 2024
Apple Intelligence was the headline
Apple introduced Apple Intelligence as a system of generative models designed to work with personal context on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple described it as “personal intelligence designed to be helpful and relevant to you.” The keynote also announced integration with OpenAI’s GPT-4o. Apple said Apple Intelligence would be available for free with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
#1 Best Overall
- 4K High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10) for stunning picture quality
- Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound
- A10X Fusion chip for ultra-fast graphics and performance
- Voice search by asking the Siri Remote
Major software updates
The software slate included iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and tvOS 18. Apple highlighted new iOS customization options and a redesigned Photos experience, as well as updates across iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV.
Apple framed WWDC as a preview of software and developer technologies scheduled to arrive later in the year, rather than a hardware-focused event. Its May 28 announcement listed iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS among the conference’s subject areas.
